Description
Doubles the cost for all techs, modded in included. This is meant for a greater experience in building and warfare, effectively allowing for larger ancient empires and world wars. Note this effectively increase the strategical value of Eurekas and other tech bonuses.

Hi, Is there a possibility to increase this to 3 or 4 times slower? I like really slow tech progression

I love this! I always hated how quickly the tech advanced in civ6. With this I can finally expirience all the ages to thier fullest.

@Lord Scrote, speed is no factor. I actually always play on epic :D. But it is most likely an existing save game won't be affected, haven't checked.

do you need to start a new game for it to work?
the techs didnt seem to increase in turns needed, this is on epic speed

@AyCe, I don't think there should be any incompatibility by design. Go ahead! :D

Also, April patch killed my game. I guess I am out of the game... literally oops :'D

Was looking for a solution to make tech progress slower while keeping production as it is, so that I have a realistic chance to actually build the things I unlock before they become obsolete again. This and Civics x2, are they compatible with random techtree? I tried it and I think it works, but I'm not completely sure. How can I check?

Hi Andy!

Currently I've developed a simple, full-static Era mod here:

This one tries to make the game go somewhat chronologically with the in-game date system, and in the process, I doubled the Ancient Era duration! I find this in balance with my x2 mods, you should check them out! :D

Hi mate. I really like your x2 mod. Using it together with civic. But would it be possible to get a era x2 aswell or can you recomend one mod for this? Eras are little bit too short for this mod

Let me try to give more insight. Since you get more time without new things to build, thanks to the slower tech, you may ironically finish your Campus Districts buildings. Or raid more the enemy's. Heck, you may even use that time to expand your armies to world-conqueror sizes and with such gains the double tech cost will mean nothing for you. Or for all other Empires, AI or Human, that blobbed or built high in the meantime, almost nullifying the extra costs, but using that time exploring militar options the most. :D
