More Aggressive Personalities (Starnet AI)

In 1 collection by TechSY730
Mod List [2.7]
62 items
Description
Tired of Devouring Swarms not devouring much? Tired of Determined Exterminators being lazy about exterminating. In general, empires that are supposed to be scary being mostly a roadblock of blocked borders and not much else. This mod attempts to fix this.

This mod increases the aggression of various "supposed to be aggressive" AI personalities, but without making them suicidal like Metalheads are (aka, the changed personalities will still mostly only take fights they think they have a good chance of not losing). This means if an AI is falling behind due to it derping its economy, it still will play passive. To fix that, you will want an AI mod or a difficulty customization setting (AI bonuses) mod.

This version is designed to work with Starnet AI, incorporating its changes to personalities.
For a version that doesn't need Starnet AI, or if you have Glavius AI, look at More Aggressive Personalities.

Note: This mod is not compatible with Spacedock: Adaptive AI Ship Design, as that mod quite heavily modifies personalities.
Nor is it compatible with compatible with Ethics and Civics Alternative.
(Both of these conflict with Starnet AI anyways)

Overrides file:
common/personalities/01_fallen_empire_personalities.txt

The changes are:

honorbound_warriors: bravery 1.0 -> 1.05
slaving_despots: aggressiveness 1.5 -> 3.0, bravery 1.0 -> 0.8
fanatic_purifiers: aggressiveness 2.0 -> 5.0
devouring_swarm: aggressiveness 3.0 -> 7.0
exterminators: aggressiveness 2.0 -> 6.5, bravery 1.5 -> 1.3
fanatic_befrienders: aggressiveness 2.0 -> 3.0

has_become_crisis: aggressiveness 2.0 -> 4.0

awakened_fallen_empire_spiritualist: aggressiveness 1.5 -> 2.5, bravery 2.0 -> 1.26
awakened_fallen_empire_materialist: aggressiveness 1.0 -> 1.5, bravery 2.0 -> 1.12
awakened_fallen_empire_xenophobe: aggressiveness 2.0 -> 5.0, bravery 2.0 -> 1.2
awakened_fallen_empire_xenophile: aggressiveness 0.5 -> 0.75, bravery 2.0 -> 1.17
awakened_fallen_empire_machine: aggressiveness 1.0 -> 1.5, bravery 2.0 -> 1.1

(bravery reductions are to keep the now more aggressive empires from becoming too suicidal)

For reference, metalheads have an aggressiveness and bravery of 10.0 (this is untouched by the mod, Paradox already did a good job making them suicidally aggressive)

Unless Paradox changed personality definitions it should.
Not really able to check it out right now though (way too busy with work and other projects)

Nice mod. Im enjoying my timelapse thanks to this. I thought editing aggressiveness in defines.lua was enough.

Sorry for the super belated reply @Ександрійський к

StarNet friendship patch adjusts global AI constants, instead of overriding the individual personality definitions. So they work together just fine.

So, my goal is to have an advanced AI challenge while still maintaining the roleplay elements of the game. Since the basic StarNet overrides the vanilla AI personality behavior altogether I was using the StarNet Friendship patch to compensate for that. Should I disable the patch if I wanna try this mod with the same goal in mind - for the aggressive things to be agressive, and for friendlier AIs to still be open to some diplomatic interactions?

Okaaaaky, whatever was going on seems to have stopped now? Idk maybe my pc is bad. Regardless I don't think it was your mod that caused it anymore, sorry for the false alarm.

Strange. All I am doing is changing constants used in formulas. I am not adding any new logic. It shouldn't have any performance overhead once the game is loaded.
I'll look into it.

Bug report: When this mod is enabled it takes a solid second fora day to pass, during that time the entire game freezes, leaving the game very unemployable to play.

Yes, it should still work in 2.7
