Antumbra 2 - Eclipse

Description
Megacorps battle for supremacy in San Francisco, but broader tensions simmering in the city threaten to boil over into total war. You’ll contend with megacorp security invasions, Colonel Saito’s thuggish Imperial Marines, ghettoized metahumans, and more exotic forces standing in the way of your contract. Choose your enemies wisely, gather reliable allies, and do whatever it takes to finish the run.

Kali has resurfaced in CalFree! This module continues the story of Antumbra, and you will need to install Antumbra in order to play Eclipse. You can either import a character from Antumbra or start a new one. If you choose to import an Antumbra character, the story in Eclipse will be updated to reflect the choices you made in the first game. After finishing Eclipse, you can import your character into Corona and see how your story continues!

Eclipse is roughly 3 times as long as Antumbra, and will probably take a couple of hours to beat on an initial play-through.

Check the FAQ if you'd like more details on setting up and playing Eclipse.

Features

This module expands on gameplay elements initially introduced in Antumbra, and adds some new ones as well.
- Recruit one of three potential companion runners. Each has their own personality, and will occasionally interject in conversation or offer advice.
- Make meaningful decisions throughout the game, which will affect both the storyline and gameplay in later scenes.
- Decisions previously made in Antumbra will come back to reward you... or haunt you.
- Overcome periodic challenges and puzzles, some of which have multiple solutions.
- We now have the matrix! All matrix content is optional, and I don’t recommend rolling a pure Decker, but you can choose to hire a Decker companion, or build your character as a Decker hybrid.
- Etiquettes are more useful now! Each etiquette can be used at least once in the mission. Some provide extra lore, while others directly aid your character.
- Evocative and atmospheric lighting, including a wholly redesigned entertainment complex.
- Features multiple endings based on the choices you make while playing.

Status

All of the content planned for this game is now complete, and there won’t be any major additions to the story or features. I think that I’ve fixed any major bugs, but it’s possible that I’ve missed some - if you stumble across any, please let me know!

Contributors

Check out the credits for everyone who helped make Eclipse what it is.

Most of all, I'm thankful for everyone who played Antumbra and encouraged me to keep going. I never would have made Eclipse if it wasn't for you.

Thanks for checking this out, and I hope you have a great time in San Francisco!

Note: I think I've squashed all the bugs that were introduced with Shadowrun Returns version 1.2.0. If I missed any, please report it in the bug thread and I'll fix it as soon as possible. Thanks again!

I just played this and its far out awesome. Now to part 3. I love how this story carries on into California Free State which was the first game that I played of Cirion's creation, and wow that was incredible.

Bloddy hell...
(when your game has the same name as someone else game's addon... I really should have google deeper, next time...)

It is not a bug, it is the unintended consequences of making his body invulnerable but not his morale. So Yes I restarted level, let him run away unharmed and finished the scene.

@SimCoder - Hmm, sorry to hear about the problem! I haven't run into any bugs with that fight recently. What version of SRR are you running?

There MIGHT be an autosave from right before you crossed onto the pier. If so, you can try re-loading that and then just redoing that fight. Try ignoring Shav and see if he exits.

@ a Dead-End. I chased Shavarus to the Pier where I and the other 2 runners are now stuck. Once again Shavarus has invulnerability but now he just cowers. We cant kill him and we cant leave the scene.

Ah, thanks. Playing Eclipse and avoided trying to give him a grenade..its much better having Orion with gear!
However, the issue of enemies targetting the player is still there. Admittably I am playing on the hardest level, but when the Lonestar Captain is surrounded by 5 gang members in melee range but decides to take a shot across the street to where I am fighting another lonestar? This sort of thing happened often enough that it took me 5 tries to get down the road and out of the Stuffer Shack parking lot. In fights of 7 good guys on 3 bad guys...it felt wrong. I ended up making it through by being the last guy on the scene and hiding behind things so the shots Lonestar took at me missed. Not very 'heroic' or 'bad-ass'.

Still, headed up the page to hit 5 stars!

Thanks, @Swift Wolf, I'm glad that you're enjoying it! It sounds like you might have run into an engine bug with Orion; there are some more details under the known issues here . Hopefully that will help keep it from happening again later on. Good luck!

I am enjoying these stories and just left the Pyramid, however I hired the Troll Street Sam {sorry, forgot his name} to join me. Somehow he lost all his gear and is running around nekkid. Not a very good deal for me. Fortunately most enemies seem to target the main character first so I haven't had to spend tons of med-kits on his scraggly nekkid hide!

This was absolutely amazing. I had a lot of fun playing this, and the writing was solid. Well done, you.

Hoi Beast, thanks for checking in!

There are a couple of ways of solving that puzzle. Since you don't have the etiquettes or Decking skill, you can fall back on repairing the boat and rowing across the pier . Start out by investigating the pier to the north of Pier 23 until you find the damaged rowboat . Then, backtrack and search through the shipping containers until you find some fresh lumber to repair the boat . Good luck, and I'm glad you're enjoying it so far!
