Description

The Hyperion Mk 2 was primarily conceived out of the need of a platform that could operate in space and within the atmosphere as well. Stronger, bigger and more powerful than its predecessor, the second iteration of the Hyperion comes outfitted with notable new features and combat oriented capabilities, along with the pre-existent highlights of the previous version.

Notably, the new mass driver cannon can fire not only the standard anti gravity shield beam, but five other types of ammunition altogether; Flak Shrapnel , HE-Bomblets, Spitfire Automatic Torpedo, Graviton Torpedo, AP Hardspike , each with their own pros and cons (listed below).
Aside from the powerful main cannon, it’s armed with 28 turrets linked through conveyors, a set of 32 small caliber turrets, and 10 front mounted auto reloadable rocket launchers, plus a double guided missile launcher system for precise long range engagements. For defense, its equipped with a dual multi-deployable decoy system.

To deal with the increased size and weight, an economic hydrogen mobility system is present to provide a sharp increase in the overall agility, and can be left online for extended periods of time without major hydrogen usage, meanwhile, 6 large hydrogen thrusters in addition allows the Hyperion to enter and escape atmospheres. A powerful gravity drive with a reversor is also equipped, and while active, the ship will violently accelerate forward or backwards, so much so that the ship will actually slightly tilt upwards or downwards due to the sheer force.

With the design being more combat oriented, the primary bridge has a clear 360 view, while the CIC and secondary flight control is entrenched underneath for better protection equipped with a blast shielding, furthermore, a tertiary flight control is located on a forward position as a backup.
Supports a permanent crew of 14, with medbay, barracks, toilets, armory, holding cell, operations & conference room, observation, cafeteria, checkpoints, cryochamber, escape pods for a total of 20 engineers, a hangar for shuttles and small fighters, plus a full set of production machinery. There’s also a cabin just for the captain.

Notes on ammo types:
Standard Beam: +Accurate, higher fire-on-the-move tolerance, cannot be stopped by gravity shields. -Low damage tolerance, moderate priority.
Hardspike: +Accurate, penetrating, high damage tolerance, low signature, low priority. -Smaller damage radius, gravity shield susceptible.
Flak Shrapnel: +Multi-hit, spread-across-shards damage tolerance. -Higher gravity shield susceptibility, multi-signature priority, low fire-one-the-move tolerance.
HE-Bomblets: +Multi-hit, massive damage. -Lowest fire-on-the-move tolerance, highest priority, no explosion damage at point blank.
Spitire Torpedo: +Rapid multi-rocket fire, multi-hit. -Inaccurate, creative mode only, moderate priority, low fire-on-the-move tolerance.
Graviton Torpedo: +Bypass any armor, attempts to kill crew directly with impact on walls, causes distortion on mass blocks, deflect incoming mass-based projectiles. –Ineffective at point blank, moderate priority, jetpack renders ineffective.


- Best to fire the main cannon while stationary or with minimal movement.
- Do not ever attempt to fire the main cannon within atmosphere.
- Careful tilting down while firing guided missiles.
- Use large hydrogen thrusters only to land, or to escape the atmosphere to save fuel.
- Gravity drive causes null gravity near the drive housing.
- Hangar regenerative plating (gray area) can repair small ships, stay clear of that area until the process ends (30 seconds).

Hi,

I figure that yes, it won't have any problems to be tinkered with. As long as the timer blocks aren't messed with as they control the mass driver and the gravity drive.

You can build either in space or earth. On earth it needs the hydrogen thrusters to fly normally

I could *likely* come up with non combat oriented explorer/travel vesser yeap, haven't done before but since I released this one i dedicated less and less time on SE, mainly due to disappointments, and not much free time, but who knows, I might just get back to work. However large grid creations take about a week to a month to make, depending on how complex it is. Often creating requires a lot of do and undo/redo until it's polished enough, so i couldn't promise anything coming out soon
