House for a Hero V4

Description
MOD DESCRIPTION:
Dragonborn Cottage is a new player house situated within the walls of Whiterun City in the Plains District on the normally vacant space near the south wall between Olava's House and Ysolda's House. It is awarded to the player as a grander alternative to Breezehome by Jarl Balgruuf the Greater in recognition of their heroic deeds across Skyrim.

Once the player has killed Mirmulnir at Western Watchtower (or manually triggered those quest stages through console commands) and reached at least level 25, the player will notice the house being built in stages over about a week of game time. Once the house is built, a courier will be dispatched to deliver the deed of ownership and house key to the player the next time they arrive in a village or city.

Aside from the usual crafting areas you would expect in a player house, there are also some useful features such as:
- a large armoury providing storage for matching light and heavy armour set and their weapons,
- a customisable shrine,
- a chopping block that provides it's own axe and yields 10 units of wood per chop rather than the standard two units,
- a work bench and grind stone that boost your smithing skill,
- a mini brewery that brews mead and wine and provides storage for all your favourite beverages,
- a live-in merchant with an array of custom enchanted jewellery available for purchase,
- a trophy room with trophies you build yourself.

MOD REQUIREMENTS:
This mod only requires virgin Skyrim to run (including updates). No other DLC or mods are required. While situated in Whiterun City, this house is completely separate from Breezehome so no Breezehome mods should be affected by it. However, the house exterior may clash with other Whiterun City mods that add extra features to Whiterun such as more trees or buildings that may well be located in the same place as the Dragonborn Cottage exterior.

SPOUSE SUPPORT:
This house is also available as a location to move your spouse into. Any spouse you move in will continue in their current merchant profession, if they already have one, or start up their own general merchant business. They will spend most of the day pottering about the house and the basement forge then spend a few hours in the evening mixing with the locals in the Bannered Mare along with your live-in merchant before retiring to your double bed in the upstairs master bedroom.

GETTING IT BUILT AND MOVING IN:
If you're not feeling inclined to just role play the house build and would rather just get to the moving in stage or are simply having trouble getting the quest to start, follow these steps for a quick (in real time) run though the house build stages of the quest to get to the part where the courier gives you the deed and key as soon as possible:

1) First, your character will need to have reached at least level 25 and have killed Mirmulnir at the Western Watchtower during the 'Dragon Rising' quest. At this stage the house build will commence.
2) Travel to a tavern in any town or city other than Whiterun and head inside. Once inside, wait for 24 hours.
3) Step outside of the tavern and wait another 24 hours.
4) Step back inside the tavern and wait for three 24 hour periods.
5) Step back outside the tavern and wait for a final 24 hour period.
6) Step inside the tavern then step back outside (no wait this time).
7) Wait for the courier to run up to you and give you a letter. Note that this may take a little longer in some locations than others.
8) Once the courier has handed you the letter you can travel to Whiterun City. If you read the deed as instructed by the quest and have 'House for a Hero' set as one of your active quests, a quest marker will help direct you to the location of the house.

EXTRA QUESTS:
This mod, while primarily providing you with a new playerhouse option, comes with a number of new quests providing you with new locations to visit and some new custom enchanted items as quest rewards that includes a special ring that provides the player with even more storage space for their numerous treasures.

NOTES FOR VERSION 3.5 SUBSCRIBERS:
Please read 'Update: 11 Nov @ 5:15pm' to see how this version differs from the previous version, 3.5.
If you already have version 3.5, please note that this is an entirely separate mod so it won't update 3.5. I did this to make sure current subscribers of 3.5 won't lose any items stored in the house from an update. If you wish to switch to version 4, I recommend removing all items you want to keep from the house and temporarily store them in another location (ie: Breezehome or another house you own) then unsubscribe from 3.5 then subscribe to this version. This will unfortunately mean you'll need to go though the starting quest again but at least you won't lose any items stored in the house in version 3.5,

FAQS, HINTS AND TIPS:
Finding Your Way Beyond the Watcher Statue Cave: Some folk have trouble finding their way beyond the 'Sovengard Watcher' statue cave during the quest for the missing trophy. If you are such a person, here's a hint: Look around under the water behind the statue.

Getting the Broken Trophy Room Wall Repaired: If you're wondering when you'll get to repair the broken wall in the trophy room, once you've completed the main 'House for a Hero' quest, just keep playing and you will eventually get a visit from a courier with a 'letter of condolence'. This will introduce the repair options.

Adopted Children, Gardens & Other Heathfire Conttent: Unfortunately, due to the need for Hearthfire DLC content, this mod doesn't support adoption or have planters or a plantable garden. If you would prefer such content, I suggest trying my latest playerhouse mod, Frostbrook Farm https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=585431914&tscn=1453742900 which allows adoption, has indoor planters, plantable farmland and lots of other emersive content such as livestock purchase new crafting stations and recipies and much more.

Starting Character Level: Some subscribers have requested a reduction in the level requirement to get the house so they can move in sooner. While I have now reduced the character level requirement to 25, please keep in mind that I want the house to really feel like a reward for the player getting to a certain level in the game so it actually feels like a house for a hero rather than just a hugely generous free-bee handout to some unfortunate prisoner that's just escaped his or her bonds. Also, many of the features in the house are comparative to and even beyond those available in the more expensive houses you get in official Skyrim or Hearthfire playerhouse content that require a fair few levels of play to gain the gold needed to purchase not only the house but the furniture and other features within those houses so the fairly high character level is also designed as a form of game balance to keep it in line with normal Skyrim game-play.

BIG THANK YOU TO PAST SUBSCRIBERS
I would like to take this opportunity to give a big thank you to all those who took a chance on a newbie modder and tried out my earlier versions of this mod. It is primarily your feedback, constructive criticism, bug reports and encouraging messages that have motivated me to keep going, pushing past all the frustrating learning curves that make me want to rage-quit and get this mod completed to this stage.

I hope you all, subscribers new and old, enjoy this version and the new features it has to offer and as always, bug reports, constructive criticism and complements always welcome.

Kind regards,
Steathdovah.

Heyhey @HappyOwl , I've been playing with this since pretty much forever. On LE and SE. I sent you a friend request to ask that in private, but since that didn't work: I'm offering to port this mod to SE (1.5.97, meaning pre-AE) and publish it on nexusmods. All the crediting stuff and so on we can discuss in DMs (honestly I'll do all you want :) ), just hoping you read this post. Send me a request if you wanna talk about that, until then I ofc won't share my SE enjoyment of this mod ^^

I enjoy THE REST of it BUT, when I go to search for "the mages" I keep getting conflicting messages regarding their location. IF I go to Dawnstar it says they are in Winterhold. SO I go to Winterhold and it says...they're in Dawnstar. So I've STOPPED looking for them.
