Also, go to the police checkpoint and the refugee camp. There's dead soldiers with M16 rifles and you can also find ammo there for the MP5SD that you begin the mission with. There's also an unmarked gun store and a bandit cache you can find, the bandit cache is in a sawmill on the east side of the area and has an M107. Good luck!
if their weapon isn't suppressed or isn't the MP5SD, it tells zombies within about 500 meters of the player to move nearby to investigate. the zombies do have independent tracking as part of Zombies and Demons, but if you follow the sides of the playable area, you can avoid them better.
if you go through the center, you'll end up fighting them because they'll see you.
that all being said, this mission hasn't been touched since 2020, it might be broken in some way. CUP's also changed a lot in 3 years; it's possible that the MP5SD now has a different classname, and the EH doesn't work anymore, or it's possible that Zombies and Demons is just super outdated and doesn't work.
if I have an opportunity to update this mission then I will, but I don't anticipate I'll be able to do that any time soon.
