Iyerbeth's Reduced Squalor Mod

Description
Iyerbeth's Reduced Squalor Mod - DeI Pack

DeI support has been moved to an addon pack, found here: Iyerbeth's Reduced Squalor Mod - DeI Pack

Iyerbeth's Reduced Squalor Mod

You are currently viewing the reduced squalor mod. This mod makes alterations to the level of squalor penalties which buildings in Total War: Rome II apply, without changing anything else about the game. The mod is intended as a rebalance to allow a little more industrial play, rather than a cheat, and so the changes are relatively minor.

The changes are as follows:
  • All building squalor penalties less than 10 are reduced by 1.
  • All building squalor penalties of 10 are reduced by 2.
  • Slum penalties are unchanged.

This mod does not require Divide et Impera (DeI) to run, the DeI changes are additional functionality for those who use it.

The "Iyerbeth's Reduced" Series

This mod is part of a series of mods which allow you to reduce the impact of food and/or squalor penalties in your Total War: Rome II games for both the player and ai in a flexible manner. They are all stand alone, though only one food and one squalor mod will work at a time. I recommend only using the standard reduced squalor mod, but following requests I am now supporting food mods and an additional further squalor reduction for those who wish to use them.

Each mod is patch 16 compatible and will work with existing save files on either campaign type. The database updates are optimised so this mod should not interfere with any other game modifications outside of the intended consequences of squalor and food reductions.

Finally, owing to the deserved popularity of Divide et Impera (DeI), all 'Iyerbeth's Reduced' mods now also provide appropriate food and squalor reductions for the additional buildings available in that mod for those who choose to use it. I am not affiliated with the development of DeI in any way.

I will be moving DeI support to a seperate addon pack for all 'Iyerbeth's Reduced' mods over the coming days so keep an eye out for that if you use DeI. Base support will continue as normal, but update is taking a little while longer with the conversion.

For those waiting for the updates, I've managed to finish the reduced food today and I'll be checking for DeI compatibility tomorrow as I think there are some changes from DeI that'll be imported currently to people who don't use it, so I need to iron that out. If it's successful I'll be uploading a further reduced food version with DeI support, as well before working on the reduced squalor and finally re-adding DeI support to further reduced squalor.

Hi Lucerne: It works for me if I use the mod manager application but some are reporting that doesn't fix it for them. Short of uploading a compatible version of DeI myself if that doesn't work I'm afraid there isn't much I can do except hope they remove the part of their mod that resets all the values.

does this work with DEI 1.02?

It's not working for me, at least not in DeI. Also tried to change values by myself on PFM but it doesn't show any effect in game.
