Custom Turret Builder II

Description
NOTE (04/01/2020): I caught and fixed a minor bug regarding bolter and plasma cannons.

NOTE (04/01/2020): This mod is NOT compatible with my Custom Turret Builder III mod. I strongly recommend you do NOT run both at the same time. Also, when saving turrets in files, you should try to keep the file names different. If either mod tries to open a file with turrets designed in the other, it won't work correctly.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

I've made a significant update to the mod. Currently, the player might enter a value to be multiplied against the base value. For example, when customizing weapon damage, the player might enter "2" and the weapon damage will be doubled.

In the new version, the player enters a decimal number and now the value of the turret can be adjusted up or down. For example, when customizing weapon damage, the player might enter "2.2" and the weapon damage will be increased by 220%. The player could also enter "0.4" and the new weapon damage will be decreased by 60% (40% of the prior value).

However, since the update required changing a ton of minor code, I didn't want to pull this mod and replace it with something full of bugs. So, I've uploaded the new mod as Custom Turret Builder 3. You can find it here:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2039371866

I will still continue to support this version for a while.

Thanks to player ROIG for "suggesting" this change!

MAJOR (SORT OF) UPDATE 03/17/2020:

The mod no longer uses the "vanilla" turret generator script which *should* allow the turret designs to generate more consistent turrets and weapons. As with any changes, however, there may (will be) bugs. Please let me know if and when you come across them. Thanks!

UPDATE 03/03/2020:

I am having a tough time getting a handle on turret heat generation and energy use. My script is sound, but I'm just not sure how the game itself calculates the values which of course makes it inherently difficult to CUSTOMIZE the value. At this time, I have simply created a CHECKBOX for heating and energy use. If the turret uses standard cooling, then the checkbox will prevent the turret from generating any heat while shooting (thus not overheating). If the turret uses battery cooling, then the checkbox will activate the turret's "energy saver" (the turret won't use energy while shooting). Basically, it's an all or nothing option at this time. But I will keep working on it!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please be aware that this mod uses the game's standard turret generator script BEFORE applying any custom modifications. Thus, it's possible that you're turret may be assigned values, options, etc. that are not necessarily consistent with your custom values. I am currently working on working around this - but in the meantime, if you notice anything wonky with one of your custom turrets, I suspect this may be the reason.

NOTE: A few folks have (correctly) commented on the lack of burst fire as an option. Please note, however, that burst fire is literally a combination of increased fire rate and either increased shooting time or decreased energy consumption. Since the mod allows you to customize each of these, a separate burst fire option would be redundant. For burst fire feature, change the values for these options.

UPDATE: Added the defense turrets - Point Defense Chaingun, Point Defense Laser and Anti Fighter. Enjoy!

UPDATE: Added a button on the File Manager page for adding turret slots. I will incorporate this feature with further revisions to this mod, but for now, the button is there.

This is an updated version of my prior mod, Custom Turret Builder.

The mod has been updated to calculate turret and weapon stats more in line with the base game.

The mod has been updated to include the new damage type features in the latest update.

*** NEW FEATURE ***

SAVE YOUR TURRET DESIGNS!!!

That's right. You can create files in which your turret designs will be saved. You will select 1 file to be the "active file" and any turret designs created will be saved to the "active file."

After saving the turret designs, you can "load" the design (in the current game or any other/future game) and generate turrets based on the design with the press of a button!

*** Note *** For some reason, this mod was much more complicated than I thought it would be and took a long, long time to put together. Thus, there are bound to be bugs. Please let me know when you find them. But, hopefully, you will enjoy!!!

Could any1 tell me how I make a weapon with this mod, that does not make too much DPS? I do not know what to multiply the weapons with so it does not get OP or have arround same damage that the weapons you get from drops have. great mod doe. =)

AtramentousSoul - Great. I stopped updated CTBII after I uploaded CTBIII so glad you have the working version.
Atramentous 21 Apr, 2020 @ 11:50am
Yes, I got it a bit after I posted that comment, everything works fine on that though.

AtramentousSoul - Wow. very, very strange. Have you tried using the more recent version - Custom Turret Builder III?
Atramentous 15 Apr, 2020 @ 3:05pm
So I made a few turrets, but no matter what I do, they do absolutely no damage to anything.
