Longbeard Thunderers (Shield and Axe)

Description
Recently I published a mod for Longbeard Thunders with Great weapons, and was asked to publish one with the traditional Axe and Shield. Here it is!

I had intended for the armor to be based off the Dwarven Engineer Hero like my first mod with Great Weapons, but it turned out that the backpack was part of the armor texture and not separate. Due to this I couldn't remove the backpack that overmeshed with the shield when its on the units back.

Does anyone know if this is lore friendly? Would be awesome if it is and to be honest makes sense, if your a longbeard you have lived long enough to learn the skills of a thunderer alongside your melee skills

Thanks for the input. I will get back to updating all of my mods soon. I've been on break from Total War for the last couple months, but I should be releasing updates with some of the suggested changes in mind soon.

Again on the question of how they should look, they're longbeards, these models fit that better than irondrake. That said an irondrake version of this unit could be interesting...

this is my favorite unit in all the vanilla + mod content so far. The idea of firing at the enemy then drawing swords (axes here) to fight is very Roman and pilum-esque.

They count as "Thunderers" for Lord Skill/tech buffs and all buffs apply. These take 2 turns to recruit but the Great Weapons version only takes one. 2 turns to recuit makes more sense IMO. Honestly, with how good these are I would make it take 3 turns to recruit.

I recommend updating the unit card to only show one Longbeard Thunderer (the multiple figures blur together and make the card vague until you look close) I really like the way the model looks, I hope you dont change it.

These should also be given the Old Gumblers encourage aura since they're Longbeards.

Finally, their range and ranged damage should be scaled back slightly. Because the front can fight in melee the ones in the back can shoot point-blank range and avoid friendly fire since thunderers don't shoot themselves even when they fire from all ranks. This means that they will beat any other unit in the game in melee. IMO you should reduce their range 10% and damage by 25%. Basically you should make sure that regular thunderers outshine them in dedicated shoot outs so they don't become totally obsolete
