Dead of Winter Description
The snow lies thick and heavy on the ground, but that hasn’t stopped the dead who prowl the town and clatter against the walls of your colony. You’re only safe behind the walls, but you need the supplies outside… and can you really trust your fellow survivors? Even if they’re not crazy, or trying to burn the colony to the ground, everyone has something they can’t live without.

Dead of Winter is a story-centric board game that puts you and up to four other players together in the tortured aftermath of the zombie apocalypse. The dead are pushing in on every side, but mere survival is not enough. You’ll have to venture beyond the confines of the colony to gather vital supplies, resolve crises, keep up morale, and fulfill your own secret objective. Whether you plan to betray the colony or lead it to safety, you can’t trust anyone. Everyone has a secret…

Dead of Winter: The Long Night Description
Explore Dead of Winter: The Long Night, a new standalone expansion that can be played on its own or integrated into the core game. The Long Night ultimately offers more of everything that made Dead of Winter an epic struggle for power and survival, including a new colony full of new survivors and new gameplay elements. You can fight off bandits from another colony, build improvements to your colony, and most intriguingly, unravel the mysteries of the new Raxxon Pharmaceutical location, which is full of Raxxon’s twisted human experiments that show up in the game as disturbing new enemies.

Dead of Winter: Warring Colonies Description
You can also enjoy Warring Colonies, an expansion to both Dead of Winter and The Long Night with new survivors, items, crossroads cards, and crisis cards. Additionally, if you own all three, you can play the epic colony vs colony variant for four to eleven players! With a wealth of new content and variants for you to explore, Warring Colonies ratchets up the intensity as the world grows ever colder.

Workshop Features:
The following improvements are made on other mods (credit given below if assets were take from existing mods):
  • Scripted setup for Base Game, The Long Night Game, Warring Colonies Game, promo cards and expansion modules added (including options to mix the cards automatically or manually). All cards have been split to ensure you don't have survivors/crossroads that can never be triggered (e.g. no survivors with bandit-related abilities if you aren't using the Bandits Module).
  • Zombies, barricades and explosive barricades can now be added easily by clicking on a zombie zone (red ring) to toggle between the available options.
  • Added noise tokens to each location.
  • Added script to noise tokens to toggle them between active and not active. When clearing active noise tokens, the script will automatically determine whether a zombie needs to be spawned and print this on the screen.
  • Added custom dice for Warring Colonies "Colony vs Colony" combat, as well as custom exposure dice - both show the effect (Wound/Frostbite etc) instead of raw numbers.
  • Added UI menu to allow the player to quickly change camera to all the key locations in the game. There is a minimise button to hide this menu as well.
  • Added custom sized Flex table and altered the table texture centre align the game and improve the amount of space around it to what is needed.
  • All terrain models and buildings have been made non-interactable to minimise object clipping and prevent items being lost inside the models. Code added to mitigate cards disappearing in to model (TTS level issue).
  • Improved alignment of all objects to make the layout uniform.
  • Added snap points and rotate snap points where needed.
  • Added hidden zones for voting tokens.
  • Added rules for the base game.
  • Changed rule books for the expansions to PDF versions to allow them to be popped out and read more easily.
  • Added bags for standees and sorted them alphabetically for easy searching.
  • Survivor tokens sorted alphabetically for easy searching.
  • Item types available in each building have now been added to the building descriptions (i.e. hover over the building for a few seconds to see them).
  • Added descriptions to building to note if they are only used in specific expansions (seen by hovering over the building for a few seconds).
  • Added auto-shuffle on all decks (except the Main Objectives) so that the base game is ready to play. If adding/using expansion or promo cards, be sure to shuffle these before playing.

Planned Updates:
  • Automatic standee base tinting (so it's clear which player controls which survivors).
  • Exile deck selection to be linked to exile title in menu
  • Scripted Main Objective selection/zombie placement to be added.
  • Gas station hover info to be added.
  • BGG promo cards to be added.

Thanks Vaele, I appreciate that ☺️

This is absolutely amazing! Awesome work.

Understood, I just don't have a personal laptop at the moment that I can install TTS onto.

Hi @ratva. Thank you very much for your answer! With the gas station info I meant to right click the gas station and type "Fuel | Weapons | Food | Survivors" in the description field, then save the mod. That should take about 30 seconds or so :)

Hi Tolban and Super Gamer - I'll add those to the todo.
I'll probably get to the gas station info later this summer. The promo card pack would need a bit more work to create the cards and set it up to load in properly without affecting the rest so no promises. If you make the assets you can always add them in and shuffle again after the game setup, it's just the automation part that could need more time than I have at the moment.

Thank you for this great mod! I noticed that the gas station is missing the info about the items that can be found there.

Great work! The mod seems to be missing the BGG promo card pack. You can find all the cards here:

Hi Rynamari,

All the generic tokens are in the barrels in front of each colony - you can see the one for helpless survivors highlighted here https://imgur.com/a/MPfbRAE .
Th tokens are double sided, so you can flip it if you want to change them to "unruly" instead of helpless. The supply is infinite, so once you're done you can just delete the extra ones or drop them into the discard bin (to the left of the barrels).

You can also find food tokens from here (which you can drop into the pots in the colony to count food supply/starvation), wound/despair and advancement tokens. You don't need the noise, barricade, or trap barrels as I've automated those – the youtube video on this workshop's page goes through how to trigger those, or you can click on "Notebook" at the menu on the top of your screen and check out the "module features" tab.

I'll make a note to add info on the helpless tokens to the notebook in a future update as well, so thanks for pointing that out.

Hi, quick question. How do the helpless survivors work? I see that there is a bag of tokens, but those tokens are of actual survivors. So if for instance with the Outsider Event, do I add 1 Survivor Standee, and 1 survivor token(to act as the helpless survivor)?

If I add a survivor token as a helpless token, how does that work if I draw the survivor's card? Or is the token art just there for ease?

Hi, ratva, thank you for the impressive work you've done with this mod!

I found a bug with one of the models: http://cloud-3.steamusercontent.com/ugc/1021697128190988773/4A83D10EA453AE94322B0085A9B9E27B7DB9C307/ should be a plain text model but is actually an html page saved from Paste.ee. HTML contains the actual model text so should be fixable.

If you want to run the audit yourself, Bored Maude tool I made detects those issues.
