More Mapmode Buttons (Political Default)

Description
Updated for CK3 'Argent' patch 1.2

An alternate version of my More Mapmode Buttons mod, with the 'Realms' and 'Political' mapmodes swapped. Thus Political is now the default mapmode with the filled in colors, and will display all Coat of Arms and other map icons that the Realms mapmode normally displays.

This for people who'd prefer to use a Political map as their primary mapmode rather than the default Reams. It is currently needed to get around the fact that all of the map icons are hard-coded to be visible only on certain mapmodes based on their name. So only one mapmode can display all of the default icons at the moment.

Note that this will disable achievements, as most any non-GFX mod seems to do with CK3.

Changelog:

1.1 - Updated for patch 1.1 UI changes
1.0 - Initial release

Compatibility:

This mode edits the following files:
- gfx/map/mad_modes/map_modes.txt
- gui/shared/mapmodes.gui
- gui/hud.gui
- gui/hud_bottom.gui
- gui/shortcuts.shortcuts (IMPORTANT NOTE: SEE BELOW)

As well as a few localization changes, but these should not overwrite any vanilla files.

Note about shortcuts.shortcuts file:

For some reason I have yet to figure out, this file does not seem to overwrite the default vanilla 'shortcuts.shortcuts' file no matter what. Editting the vanilla file allows you to edit/add keybinds however you wish, but it doesn't seem to work if the file is in a mod.

This is probably a bug, but in the meantime, you just need to copy the 'shortcuts.shortcuts' file in the 'workshop\content\1158310\2223763531\gui\' directory. Paste and overwrite into your 'Crusader Kings III\game\gui\' directory, first backing up the vanilla file if you wish. I've only added 3 lines to the file that add the following keybindings:

Political Map - "E" (The default Realms keybind)
Terrain Map - "N"
Diplomatic Range Map - "P"
Realms - "Q"

Future Plans:

I don't know quite how much further I will take this mod yet, as I don't think I'm quite as knowledgeable of a modder as many others. But this is what I've been looking into at least:

- Figure out how to get map icons to appear on multiple mapmodes, allowing me to merge these two mods.
- Create custom icons.
- Get the keybindings file to install correctly.
- Add some new basic mapmodes. This is pretty tricky but definitely gonna mess around with it.

Feel free to check out any of my other modes if you'd like!

Updated for 1.1

@Very_Svensk

In my original version, the vanilla 'Realms' mapmode is the default/primary mapmode, exactly how it is in the vanilla game, there is just now an option for a separate 'Political' and 'Terrain' mapmode. The downside of this is that you won't see any of the normal map icons (CoA's, some war icons, etc) in either the Political or Terrain mapmodes (as visible icons appear to be hardcoded to certain mapmodes based on name).

The only thing this version of my mod changes, is that now the 'Political' mapmode is the default/primary, so that you can see all of the map icons while using the Political mapmode, since some people prefer it to the CK3 vanilla Realms.

Question - I ... Do not understand the difference between your two mods? Could you, if you have time, or if i provide a comparison picture, upload that so we know for the future?

This is perfect and is the solution to my number 1 gripe that fell into the category "It's a good game, I dont want to complain, but come on!!"

This is an amazing mod!

It's a shame they dropped the ball so hard on mapmodes this time.

Any hope for a direct vassal mapmode in the future? That one is still badly missing as a Quality of Life thing.
