Simple Regrowth

Description
Inspiration:
The inspiration for the creation of ‘Simple Regrowth’ stemmed from a desire to use a world regrowth mod with a more natural regrowth mechanic. A mod that specifically targets non-renewable plants/animals without interfering with existing in-game regrowth mechanics.

Supported Entities:
• Berry Bushes
• Juicy Berry Bushes
• Grass Tufts
• Saplings
• Flowers
• Red/Green/Blue Mushrooms
• Cacti/Oasis Cacti
• Reeds
• Spiky Trees
• Spiky Bushes
• Stone Fruit Bushes
• Beached Bull Kelp
• Rocks/Boulders/Gold Boulders
• Bones/Skeletons
• Planted Mandrakes
• Totally Normal Trees
• Beehives
• Fireflies
• Tentacles
• Mermhouses
• Tallbird Nests
• Catcoon Dens
• Beefalo
• Clockworks/Damaged Clockworks

How It Works:
The mod regularly checks the current number of each supported entity that is present in the world. If it returns with a value lower than the allowed maximum, the mod sets a timer (which can be customized in the settings). Once time is up, the mod will spawn a random number of said entity in accordance with the amounts listed in the settings.

The maximum values allowed to be present in the world are set lower than default world numbers so as not to flood the world with resources and to preserve the survival experience. This means most of the mod will not trigger unless something catastrophic happens to a large chunk of your world’s resources. Think of this mod as set-and-forget insurance.

Specialty Spawning Mechanics:
Boulders and Gold Boulders are not spawned directly like other entities on this list. Instead the mod only spawns rocks and if four of these rocks are spawned in close proximity to each other than the mod will remove the rocks and spawn a Boulder or Gold Boulder in their place.

Once again, Clockworks are not just spawned in like other entities on this list. Instead the mod adds a new entity called a ‘Dormant Clockwork.’ Upon death clockworks will now explode spawning the new entity. The ‘Dormant Clockwork’ has two different functions, it acts just like a lightning rod and if struck will spawn a new clockwork or it can be manually repaired using three Electrical Doodads which will also spawn a new hostile clockwork. If you wish to permanently remove the clockwork respawn point than hammering the entity will destroy it and drop the same loot as Broken Clockworks in the Ruins.

Additional Notes – Lightning is tied directly to the players screen, in order to make sure clockworks consistently revived, I added a fail safe that will revive off-screen ‘Dormant Clockworks’ during storms. The rate at which this happens can be configured in the settings. If you ever need to spawn the new entity the prefab is 'clockworkhusk' for overworld clockworks and 'nightmarehusk' for damaged ruins clockworks.

The Compass Lives Again?
The Compass is often overlooked due to mods such as 'Global Positions' which do its job better. This mod seeks to bring more functionality to this underused item. The Compass recipe has been adjusted to be 2x Gold Nuggets, 1x Gear, and 3x Moon Rocks. In addition, its pitifully low durability has been removed entirely and it now has the ability to detect nearby Clockworks. When equipped your HUD will now be graced with an on-screen indicator and arrow that will lead you straight to our angry metal friends. This new found technology also works in the caves and might make finding and fighting in the ruins just a little easier.

The real reason I added this is because the more Clockworks die and respawn the more they move away from their original spawn point making them harder to find. This should help you pin down where they are hiding.

Compatibility:
This mod works on existing worlds, but will only spawn entities on vanilla turf*

The mod’s spawning mechanic is directly tied to each biome’s unique turf. If you are playing with mods that add new turfs or biomes (Green World, Windy Plains, Sugarwood Forest, Tropical Experience), this mod will not recognize those locations as valid spawning points.

*I had to create a new type of turf to differentiate the spawning locations of the two types of cacti. This means if you install this mod on an existing world only oasis cacti will regrow, and it will do so irrespective of the different deserts.

@nolhan.kdfr This can be done by editing the mod in the game files, go to the steam folder
\steam\steamapps\workshop\content\322330\2259422611 open "modmain" (modmain.lua - if you have file extensions enabled) scroll a little to the bottom and you're done, there you can configure how many of them will appear per race and their maximum possible number on the map

Grass n Rabbit respawner would b great additions
Unless these already respawn on their own

You see I run a public server when I play for anyone to join n sm times you get ppl that don't know about digging up rabbit holes or using dug up grass for fuel is not a great idea

Long story short, we got lucky there was alot of grass n we were able to find Beefalo not to far away for warmth lol
