Modifier Madness

Description
Note: For this mod to work you need the Potent Potions mod by our fantastically talented Evaisa.

A mod that gives each non-melee/non-boss enemy a random projectile modifier!

This adds a bit of challenge and silliness to the gameplay. You never know what you'll meet next or what kind of situation you'll end up in.

Some of the most unfair/annoying modifiers are excluded, like Personal Fireball Thrower and Personal Gravity Field. A potential future addition is a list to personally configure which modifiers are included.

By default the modifiers are hidden for maximum suspense and surprise, but there's a config option to show modifier icons underneath enemies. You can also configure the chance of an enemy getting a modifier (default 100%) and the chance of an enemy dropping its modifier after death (default 0%).

Here's a few gifs of what I've come across while using this mod:

Hi MatLab, glad you're excited! I was considering adding a configurable chance for the enemies to drop their modifier after death, but since I wouldn't even use it myself I've lacked the motivation to go through adding and debugging it.

Btw, you should know that I'm currently trying to create a mod (I started learning LUA yesterday... xD): a killed monster drops its weapon/spell.

This is to give even more coherence to the universe, rather than weapons/spells disappearing for no reason really. (a gamedesign choice)

So if you kill the dynamite guy, you get the dynamite spell,
if you kill the electric Ukko, you get his electric ball spell, etc.

I want the player to be excited every time they see a badass monster, like "omg this monster shoots crazy stuff! If I kill him, I'll get this ability! So dangerous but worth it!

So if I made this mod compatible with yours, the monster would lose the spell AND the modifier you added with your mod..... This could be really cool!

I don't know if it would break the balance of the game, but I think it's an exciting idea, so I want to try it. (and anyway there are always solutions to balance this... we'll see later, I have to accomplish this first, which is not certain! xD)

OMG I love the concept! And you say it works with Potent Potion... which itself works with all the other mods... \\MINDBLOW// I can't wait to try this!

Shanjaq, that is a good idea and I would like to add that at some point, with a configurable modifier drop chance. For now, this mod should just be considered extra challenge/variety for those who have played the game a lot.

without some kind of reward for this massive risk, this sounds like a recipe for smashed keyboards. maybe add a chance that they'll drop their mod on death?

Try again Niro, and if it doesn't work you gotta unsubscribe & resubscribe to make sure the mod is updated. Sorry about that.
