Not without the credits of your own personal mining corp behind you, or the backing of some military's top brass. And let me tell you, place like this? Most folk won't take too kindly to too many uniforms snooping around their cargo. We're private folk. Keep to ourselves, take just about any job, long as you can pay.

So where does that leave us? Well, take a look outside. Don't look like much, sure, but some of those rusting hulks you can see are the finest ships you'll ever set foot aboard. With the right pilot, the right engineer, and the right captain overseeing 'em, there's no call for anything grander. More'n half of them'll carry any cargo, too, or take you any place you see fit. Choosing your boat, though- not that's the tricky part.

Y'see, it ain't about shiny hulls or those fancy energy guns you hear about in the core worlds. It's about character. Every one of those ships out there'll have a story behind them. Maybe they outran the patrol boats around Geminorum last trip; maybe they've been shipping supplies out to the troops over Persei way. Maybe they only deal in black-market beagles- whatever. Some folk are scoundrels, others, good honest frontier folk. Oftentimes, you can't tell the difference between one and the other. Now, you sail with one of our lot, I can't promise you comfort. I can't promise you ease or respectability. But what I can promise you is a ride you'll never forget, and just maybe, a tale you can tell the folks back home.
