Description
"What are we, once even the children are lost?"

Overview
----------------------------
The Innocent is a charming young noble, born to a house of distant relation to your own. Though she was once lauded a prodigy amongst the social courts, a strange... simplicity seems to have overcome her. Despite, the childish whimsy fit for one below her years that she's brought is a light of its own for the elsewise dark and gloomy Hamlet. Still, one has to wonder... how did she arrive here on her own?

The Innocent Mod comes with herself as a playable hero and 10 class-specific trinkets to go along with her.
She is designed around a slower, more defensive playstle where you "play with your food", and is intended to be used as a synergist -- as long as you take the care to plan around the child being brought to fight off the scourges of the Hamlet, and make sure to play her game, you will find her an invaluable asset.

The Innocent has a comic commissioned and paid for, but not finished. Under the link below, I added a text version of her comic to the end of the doc.

She also has a short story[docs.google.com], written as a companion to the comic to expand upon her lore, which is available now.

Throughout her character, there are bits of flavor and details both big and trivial squeezed into every name, number, and effect that I could. I hope you can enjoy every bite~


Gameplay
----------------------------
The Innocent is a transformation-based dual roled hero -- Frail, but incredibly agile, in her "Prim" form, she is able to dish out powerful stress heals, small bites of healing, and can practically remove herself from the fight for a time. When her attention is caught, and she switches into her "Play" form, she may freely mark a target, and then proceed to tear into whatever she can reach.

Much of the Innocent's strengths are determined by what she is brought along with -- though somewhat lacking on her own, the right trinkets and allies combine to turn her into an incredibly powerful tool for lighting a path through the dark.


Combat Skills
This Google Doc[docs.google.com] has the same information as below, but with all numbers, base stats, trinkets etc.
Each turn she attacks in Play mode, the Innocent gains +6% DMG, 1% Crit, and 4% Stress dealt, lasting 7 turns.

Notes
-Her default name is "Luna".

-In case you want your hero to have special interactions with the Innocent, she possesses the IDs: "monstrous", "the_innocent", and "darksun_child".

-The Innocent, in-file, is referred to as "innoc".

-The Innocent's power balance is centered around the fact that she can equip only two trinkets at a time. Keep in mind that three- and four-trinket mods will spike her power far more than you may expect.

Does she have any Districts?
-The Innocent uses the Performance Hall district.

How about custom Afflictions/Virtues?
-The Innocent has her own unique Afflictions, Hyper and Irradiant. They are modified versions of Abusive and Irrational respectively -- while the stat changes are different, the act outs remain similar. (She's prone to touching things while Hyper, though.)

What Languages has she been translated to?
-Currently, the following languages have a translation:

(Partially Incomplete:)
Chinese(S) (Yoinked from 拜悼, they made a subsidiary mod)
Russian (Yoinked from DrScarii, they made a subsidiary mod)

"Innocent Mod Order Issue?"
If you see this warning on another character's mod, cure the affliction and move their priority above the Innocent's in your mod list to fix the issue. If you see it on the Innocent, just cure the Affliction to resolve.

Something about Phantasmal Veil?
-There is a small issue with the Innocent's Crystalline Trinket, Phantasmal Veil. To work as intended, the transformation of "Playtime!" needs to be queued. However, it stutters the animation, so the default will stay with it not so.
You can use it as intended simply by removing the "//" from //.queue true in her "effects" file,
(in: steam - steamapps - workshop - content - 262060 - 2500880141 - effects)
at the end of line 18. Notepad/Notepad++ can open the file.

Though it functions without this, it acts more like a lock than a key.
As an apology, she has a second Crystalline, "Gaudium Vincula", which is fully functional and now has art thanks to MoldyMrWaffles!

Help! My Innocent won't return to being Prim after a fight ends!
-If your Innocent is staying in Play mode after a battle ends, and instead "passes turn", your version of Darkest Dungeon is likely severely outdated. There's a bit of spaghetti code that she and the Werewolf rely on to transform after combat that was not part of the initial release version of the game; any version post 2016 should work fine.

v she was more than usable on my end. perhaps a build issue.
otherwise, probably the coolest class i''ve ever used in this game, and i have 400 mods. great concept, great artwork animation and fun factor.

Wish that she was a bit better. She is unfortunately too weak and her trinkets only bring her to playable character and not unique one

@Cacturactus That's a secret! :D

In actuality though, act-out wise it's essentially Hopeless coded as a virtue. It boosts her defenses slightly, but at a heavy cost to her offense and reliability.
Initially, her stress barks were reduced to just barks for flavor, but I ended up putting a pretty hefty self-stress on it since you got me thinking about it! Don't worry though, that's probably a buff if anything, since it will naturally get rid of itself now and make her draw stress aggro, lol.
If you're curious about the chances for her overstress, it's 5% to go Eclipsed, 48% Hyper and 47% Irradiant! So I intentionally left mention of it out to have a little surprise for even those who read up.

@Tikotitok That was certainly a consideration, but at the very least from the perspective of one with all the lore it makes a bit more sense - a child prodigy that has always had perfection as the baseline should be capable enough to equate adjacent skills (sewing / stitching) with light direction. I'll admit it's harder to see with just game-side knowledge, though!
