Packs Are Not Belts

Description
Moves the jump pack, low-shield, and some modded packs to the torso slot so they can be worn with belts.

Also moves the exoskeleton frame from VWE Heavy to its own layer, and some Rimmu-Nation items away from the torso, so they can still be worn with other utilities.

Mod Settings
The following mod settings exist so that you may customize your experience:
  • Nudists ignore utilities - By default, anything worn on the legs or torso will upset nudists. This setting allows them to wear all utilities without consequence.
  • Use Tactical Layer for Rimmu-Nation 2 - (REQUIRES RESTART) If enabled, all webbings and belts from Rimmu-nation 2 will be moved to their own layer. This will make them wearable with all other items.
  • Use Tactical Layer for [JDS] EFT Apparel (non-armor) - (REQUIRES RESTART) If enabled, all non-armored riggings from EFT Apparel will be moved from the Outer layer to the Tactical layer.
  • Use Tactical Layer for [JDS] EFT Apparel (armored) - (REQUIRES RESTART) If enabled, all armored riggings from EFT Apparel will be moved from the Middle layer to the Tactical layer.
  • Use ammunition layer for Rim-Effect ammo belts - (REQUIRES RESTART) If enabled, all ammo belts from Rim-Effect: Core will be moved to their own layer. This will make them wearable with all other items.
  • Use ammunition layer for VAE Accessories - (REQUIRES RESTART) If enabled, the ammo pack and quiver will be moved to the Ammunition layer.
  • Equipment ignores damage - If enabled, apparel on the equipment layers will not take damage in combat. Mod compatibility is not guaranteed.

If you know of any modded apparel not yet included in this patch, please let me know so that I can include it.

This mod does not add any apparel, it only modifies apparel from other sources. All credit for the packs themselves goes towards their original creators.

Special thanks to the XML and C# gurus in the Rimworld Discord server, for teaching me new things.

This mod uses Harmony.

In the base game, just the shield belt. Though you can make smokepop packs behave like belts by enabling the "legacy smokepop pack" mod setting.

Vanilla Apparel Expanded is supported by this mod and adds a few "true" belts.

Hi friend! I'm using this mod alongside Rimmu-Nation, but when I enable the Tactical Layer option for Rimmu, my pawns end up wearing several layers of the same gear. It's like it doesn't disable the original vanilla layer.

Maybe I'm missing something here, I've only played the game for about a week.

Thanks for a great mod!

@Crazy Dog
This has been added in the latest patch. Try verifying your game files to make sure the update applies. The mods menu should display mod version 2.4.1.

^^ Fix for VAE
into the VaeAmmunitionLayerPatch.xml file pls change PacksAreNotBelts_Tactical to PacksAreNotBelts_Ammo. This solves the missing texture.

It may be an issue with Steam's content delivery, given recent issues I've been having. Try validating the game's files, or unsubscribing and resubscribing. That should force Steam to download all of the required files.

Hello, I have found the problem with Vanilla Apparel Expanded Accessories. The layer is set to PacksAreNotBelts_Tactical instead of PacksAreNotBelts_Ammo in the VaeAmmunitionLayerPatch.xml file. This solves the missing texture. Figured that wasn't intended from what it says in the mod options. Just wanted to let you know if you wanted to implement this change.
