Description

The main innovation of the mod is the Obsidian Empire faction, from the planet of the same name Obsidia(the faction is initially hostile). New researches of Obsidia technologies, their equipment, weapons, etc. There is a possibility of obtaining new resources.
Gears of the Obsidian Empire are divided into 4 main corpus:
  • OMC - Obsidia Military Corpus - Use weak but rapid-fire weapons. Equipped with standard medium power armor.
  • OTC - Obsidia Tech Corpus - Use energy weapons of acid, cryo, EMP and fire elements. Equipped in light power armor with good protection from harmful effects.
  • OCC - Obsidia Crusaders Corpus - Use a slow weapon with blast ammo. Equipped in highly protected heavy power armor.
  • OEC - Obsidia Exalted Corpus - Use universal armor-piercing weapons equipped with a blade for melee. Equipped in light power armor designed for psi casters.
Obsidia Drifter Clans(or ODC), rejected Obsidia Empire. Divided into 3 main factions:
  • Obsidia Syndicate Clan - Change is sudden, violent, and a necessary force to ensure the planet can return to a state of growth. Obsidia Syndicate Clan see themselves as merely the instrument of this change. Their goal is to raiding and robbing their more productive neighbors.
  • Obsidia Renegade Clan - They are sworn protectors of what little remains of the free colonies. Their goal is to restore order by bringing prosperity and direction to the violent world.
  • Obsidia Pilgrim Clan - They embody the cold vacuum of space - heartless and bent on taking anything left unprotected. Driven by profits. Their goal is to enrich themselves by trading with hi-tech neighbors.
Also, ancient and dangerous - Crimson Arachna Cult and forgotten, rejected and abandoned - Obsidia Empire Sins!

A: Maybe. But due to the fact that the mod introduces a new faction, research, resources, etc., I still recommend using the mod with new saves.

Q: Where to craft new items?
A: Weapons crafts at the Obsidia Weapon Workbench. Persona weapons at the Obsidia Persona Table. Armor crafts at the Obsidia Armor Station. Resources and medicines are synthesized Obsidia Synthesis Printer.

Q: There are too many recipes in the workbenches!
A: Yes, there is such a problem. Therefore, I recommend using this mod or a similar analogue to solve this problem.

Heads up to casual players
I don't recommend starting a new game with this mod until the next update drops. A lot of item and weapon codes are being reworked/moved, which might break your saves.
Use at your own risk , or if you're down to help find bugs for future fixes.
Once the update is out and things are safe, this comment will be removed :BL3Shrug:

Obsidia destroys world map gen for me. Its probably incompatible with a mod I just dont know which one. But when I disable obsidia --- world map gen is fine and works normally

So I've done the painful check of every mod. This mod is the only one that seems like it works at the start but as soon as you make a new colony, it doesn't spawn any factions on the map, only one. When using "Dev Quick start" it doesn't spawn in the starting pawns. I have 279 mods without this and they all work perfectly well, only happens when I add Obsidia and its xenotypes.

Will there be an update or fix because as far as I can see Obsidia doesn't mix well with any vanilla expanded or anything with factions and genes in update 1.6. Usually I'd have 800+ mods with no issues in 1.5 (Including this mod) but as of 1.6, Obisidia is very unstable with most mods.

Мод великолепен. На версии 1.5 наиграл с ним много часов. Сейчас, к сожалению, присоединяюсь к Wimpypumpkin, Koneko и MC Honk. (Версия 1.6 + Одиссея) Игра загружается со всеми другими модами (250~ штук), но стоит добавить этот, как при загрузке игры весь экран красный от ошибок - затем исчезает весь интерфейс, появляется ещё одна цикличная ошибка. Сам по себе мод загружается и работает. Также всё работает со второй половиной моего мод листа. Получается идёт конфликт с первой половиной (там в основном моды Vanilla Expended). Если нужны будут логи какие, могу помочь.

I'm trying to build my modslist back after the update, getting a crash on start with Obsidia as well. I'm trying to narrow down what it can be. Unfortunately I can't offer a Hugslib log right now since the crash caused the game to disable all mods. I will dig in and see what I can find

I have the vehicles mod, I'll try disabling that. I was also having some trouble with a few Dryad mods when enabled as well- namely the Dryands and Gauranlen Trees Reworked mods.

Mainly trying to get info out to help the community figure out what is going on

Getting the same errors, activating Obsidia in my mod list causes the game to completely lock up and not even get to the main menu. (My mod list is 225 mods atm, which loads safely otherwise)

Have another XML showing for OE Vehicleturretbase. About reload sound and firing for effect. For all Vehicle turrets.
