Description
FEATURES

This mod aims to implement some features in the Imperial Campaign that were introduced in other TW games, namely, Barbarian Invasion expansion and Total War: Rome II, while maintaining the same vanilla-style atmosphere.
The main features of this mod include:

New factions
- Just like in Rome II, in this mod there are no "slave" settlements. Every region is owed by "real" factions. In total, there are 70 new factions plus the original ones. For now, you cannot “officially” play with all those factions because they need more polishing. I have plans to unlock them in the future.
- The mod also allows you to play with five rebel factions (see below), however, this is only recommended for veteran players who are looking for a challenge.

Civil wars
ALL factions can have civil wars. ALL!! No matter if they are an empire, such as the Seleucids, or a small Greek-city state, such as Sinope.
Civil wars work exactly the same way as in Barbarian Invasion expansion. There is a "shadow" faction that emerge everytime a revolt occurs (no matter if the faction is controlled by the human or AI) . Characters with low loyalty can betray you and join the civil war faction.
So, in total, the mod features 70 new factions + 70 shadow factions for those new factions + 17 original faction + 17 shadow faction for the original factions = 174 factions.

Religion
- The mod features 16 new religions. Most of the religions were inspired in Rome II culture system.
- Religion makes public order a little bit harder to manage and civil wars are more likely to occur.
- The Second Temple is now a building in Jerusalem which converts population to Judaism. Jaudaism give income bonus due to trade, however, human players can destroy the Second temple...as Romans did historically.
- the official religion of Egypt is the syncretic cult of Serapis. This faction can construct temples dedicated to Serapis and his consort, Isis.

New culture
The mod includes two new cultures:
- Balkan culture - for the Thracian and the Illyrian semi-civilized factions. The building chain is similar to barbarian factions, but characters look like Greeks.
- Italic culture - for the Etruscans and Samnites.

Multiple family trees per faction
- In this mod there is only Roman Faction but there are three families within that faction based on the original Julii, Scipii, and Brutii family trees.
- The Carthaginian faction has three family trees (Barcids, Hannoids, Magonoids)
- Sparta has two family trees (historically, Sparta had two Kings from two different dynasties) .

Legions
Just like in Barbarian Invasion, the Roman faction can recruit legionary units displaying legion names, based on the region where they were recruited.

New regions
- The mod is based in the vanilla map but adds 15 new regions and changes some province’s borders.
- The map also includes a "TERRA INCOGNITA" system (there are no conquerable settlements in the desert and in the steppes)
- In this mod, Rhodes and Jerusalem have walls.

Emergent factions and hordes
- In this mod, Parthia, Judea and the Samnites are emergent factions;
- Additionally, the Cimbri can form hordes because historically a Cimbri horde migrated into Roman lands during the Roman-Cimbrian war.

Historical authenticity
The mod doesn’t aim to be a super-realistic piece of art such as Europa Barbarorum, however, it fixes some historical inaccuracies:
- My Ptolemaic Egypt mod is included ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2664070185 ) - Egypt can recruit some Greek units and some bronze-age units were removed from the game).
- new animation for hoplites: in this mod, Greeks will fight like Greeks, not like Macedonians.
- The Diadochi factions can no longer recruit militia hoplites. However, in tier III barracks, these factions can recruit Hypaspists, a unit imported from the Alexander campaign.
- My Celtiberian Warrior mod is included to replace the Bull Warriors ( https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2501268253 ).
- Added new texture for the Seleucid, Armenian and Numidian legionaries to give them a distinctive look when compared with Roman legionaries (credits to "Numidia - more authentic and enhanced army" by Basileus_PL. The shield was based on this mod)
- Some of the most...bizarre...units were removed, namely, the Arcani, incendiary pigs, screeching women and Head Hurlers.
- The Spear Warband (from the Germanic factions) can no longer use phalanx formation. Instead, they can form shield walls.

Vanilla-style unit rosters
- the mod doesn't add new units but uses those who already exist in the game to create specific rosters for certain factions. For example, Knossos can recruit Cretan Archers; Rhodes can recruit Rhodian slingers, Celtiberian tribes can recruit Celtiberian warriors (but not Scutarii), Iberian tribes can recruit Scutari (but not Celtiberian warriors), Nabataea can recruit Arab cavalry and Bedouins; Illyrians can recruit pirates, Epirus can recruit mercenary elephants, etc.

Victory conditions
Just like in Barbarian invasion and Rome II, in this mod you have to conquer certain regions to claim victory in your campaign.

Agent limit
To avoid agent spam, you and the AI can only recruit a limited number of agents per settlement. This feature was inspired in Rome II.

Assimilation
Just like in Rome 2, before recruiting new units in a recently conquered settlement, you need to convert its buildings to your culture. You can no longer recruit fresh roman soldiers in a recently conquered settlement in the middle of Gaul. First, you must convert the barracks into your culture; only then you can recruit new soldiers.
Furthermore, you need to convert the population to your culture (religion) before being able to recruit new soldiers.

RECOMMENDATIONS

-The recommended language to play this mod is English. I didn't test the mod with other languages.

FAQ's

I want to play as the nonplayable factions. How do I unlock them?
It's possible to play as any faction by modding the desc_stat.txt file. These factions need polishing but if you want to give it a try:
go to "C:\...\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\885970\2706912140\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign" and open the desc_strat.txt file. Then, cut the line of the faction of your choice below the nonplayable section (ex. "hellenic_faction_01" is Sparta) and paste it below the playable section. Save the file and play the game.

Great mod but far too unstable.

This is probably the best vanilla-style overhaul mod out there, I just wish it had a little bit more unit variety (1-3 flavour units per main faction) and maybe double the settlements (nothing crazy like some of the mods out there). It's so close to awesome, but the scope a little small for my liking.

are thunderbolts missile cav of Odessa suppose to be god tier? cause 1 unit destroyed 3 Princpies. Sheeh i never seen a whole army lose to a bunch of goat herders before so absolutely. Maybe i do not get it but that faction seems to have a lot of god tier units. godly dogs and missile Calvary. David clearly was never a jew but a Thracian and he had lots of kids all with the same skills to kill the giants.
