24/4/2022: The Gatefisher Update
- Added a new class, the Gatefisher! A patient mage that excels in crowd control. You can train this class by talking with Hark, at Nordock
- New stat: Fishing skill. Some items of the mod and the Gatefisher class come with this. Every point increases you chances to fish rarer fishes by 2%.
- Easier Salted Fish meat production:
-- By using any "slash" type attack against (most) fishes, now they turn into Raw Fish Meat (you can still cutting it fish by fish with a machete)
-- The Salt Bag got a reworked artwork, and now can be used like an objet. Raw Fish Meat hitted by it will turn into Salted Fish Meat, saving you lots of time compared to doing it manually!
- Expanded fishes uses: Now some of the fish that had few uses or complicated use in craft recipes works like a consumable that can aid you in combat!
- General tweaks to the mod balance and economy
- A new cute and fantastic icon for the Baby Shark! Made by King Joshingtong. Among the new Sprite, when combined with the Ancient Pistol, now gives you a new gun added on this update, the Shark Gun.

What does the mod do?

In short, its a big mod, aimed to expand and overhaul how fishing works in the game (yes, its a base game feature!). The most notorious thing is that now fishing spots work on a very different way (They start empty, and grow over time or when you use Baits over them, awarding different and more rare fishes!). They are far easier to see, they have a tooltip, and they feature a new way of using them, plus a lot new items!

Getting started

If you didnt knew how fishing works on the base game, it works like this: There is a fishing spot. You use any weapon capable of fishing (Spears, only) over the fishing spot and as a reward you fish something. That hasnt changed with this mod, but everything arround it: Fishing spots start empty, then, after certain amount of time units has passed, they start to become poblated with fish. The longer you wait, the rarer will be the fish you can find. Or, you can use Baits to make the proccess instantaneous! No fishing spot? No problem! An special kind of "trash" item you can find will allow you to make fishing cages, that when used over any body of water, will create a temporal fishing spot. To get started inside the game, go to Nordock and talk with the fisherman NPC. He has all the info about fishing you will ever need, plus now features a bigger range of new interactions. I wont spoil more of the mod, as it is made for players to discover it themselfs. Content

This mod adds a total of 53 items, in which you can find from new fishes (obviously) to weapons, consumables, magical scrolls, a shark machine gun, and even 4 new canons for you ships! (among many others). The philosophy I followed with everything new on this mod is that, as long you can fish it, it has an use. Keep experimenting, and dont forget to talk with Hark on a basis! He may have or say a thing or two useful on you fishing journey.

Tech-bits
This mod must be loaded below every other mod to ensure it will work properly. This is due to the fact the crafts inside are done with "cloneFrom", a way to add propieties to an item witouth overriding it. However, if another mod does override the core vanilla definition, then the clone stops working. Loading it below all ensures the clone always gets loaded no matter who overrides a vanilla definition.

Issues

Typos, an old enemy of mine. As you can guess, English its not my first language, so probably, and judging by how big is the scope of the mod, probably there will be more typos of what I wish there would be. Feel free to comment if you find any! I will try to fix those asap

So far, I havent noticed any bug while playtesting the mod, either on new or old saves. But if you find any, feel free to point it to me.

Still any news regarding of creating a crafting list guide of fishing mod that includes the harpoons.
Any plans to update and fix the broken link of the crafting list of your fishing mod?

Hi Welk. Not really cause its a Prom mod, and it's they mod. Won't be nice if I just used its assetts to add a passive for my class here. If they wanted and asked to add one for my class tho, I won't mind.

@Bjardok Sorry for the extreeeeeeme delayed answer, but yeah, was a bug. Now after you talk with Harp for the first time and he teachs you how to fish, the Gossip will stop appearing.

Again, sorry for the late answer, making the new update was kinda big and it ate a good chunk of my time!

I think i found a bug, every time i ask someone about gossip they 90% of the time tell me about the fisher on Nordock. Even though i have been there
