Improved Hotbar

Description
This mod is obsolete. Use Epip v1066+[www.pinewood.team] instead, which has all the features of Improved Hotbar along with dozen other optional UI improvements and fixes.

Requires Norbyte's Script Extender v56[github.com].

In co-op, ALL players require the mod for it to work - this is the case for any (properly-made) DOS mod.

The Improved Hotbar mod allows you to have multiple bars at once (up to 5), and adds new functionality to improve the mouse+keyboard hotbar experience further.

To add more bars, click the small +/- buttons between the buttons and the slots.

You may cycle each bar independently. The original cycling hotkeys cycle the bottom bar; holding shift while doing so (the "Show sneak cones" key) will cycle the bar above it.

The buttons in the bottom left part of the hotbar have been revamped, and are now customizable. In addition to them being re-arrangable by drag-and-dropping (if the hotbar is unlocked), mods can add their own "action buttons" there with custom functionality (documentation pending, reach out if you want help with that).

Right-click these buttons (or click the button with the ^ arrows) to open the "actions drawer", where you can see all the actions that you can drag-and-drop to assign them to the buttons at the bottom. You may also click them in the drawer to use them. (The feature to bind them to keys is temporarily unavailable at the moment.)

Right click a row to open up a context menu where you can perform multiple handy operations, such as clearing it, moving a group of slots to the sides (great for inserting new spells inbetween!) or saving/loading a preset.

Additionally, the health bar at the bottom of the screen shows its values at all times. You don't need to hover over it.

Special thanks to Elric for the workshop assets!

Compatbility
Incompatible with mods that modify hotBar.swf. This might be worked around in the future if it becomes a concern. statusConsole.swf is edited, but not essential to the mod's core functionality.

Arena mode and GM mode are untested. Consider them unsupported!

Incompatible with Epip Encounters as it already includes the same hotbar changes. Use it instead if you intend to play Epic Encounters 2, as it contains dozens of additional EE-specific UI improvements.

Compatibility considerations:

  • Weapon Expansion: added an action to open the menu, shifted it slightly up (so the close button is accessible with 2 bars), repositioned the button when you have 2 rows of customizable buttons
  • Portable Respec Mirror (Fort Joy Edition): added an action to use the mirror
  • Epic Encounters 2: the original actions remain (Source Infuse, Meditate), though there is not much point in using this mod over Epip.

Don't minimize your role. I gave my partners a choice, your mod or Epip. I like what Epip has, but there's a lot of things there that neither I nor my partners need. In this case there is a choice and that's a good thing.

I have long been looking for a mod that adds new panels, because by default I do not like to flip them here and there. But the developers have not deigned to make a panel on the sides or come up with a convenient circular panels that are in Epip / tToEE.
In the end, 5 panels is the most comfortable for the eyes because you look at the whole picture.

Installing Epip is now as easy as with any other mod since extender v60 is out now, so I highly recommend switching to it if the extra install steps were a problem before.

1) Subscribe to the mod.
2) Jump to the link on Github - Norbyte's Script Extender.
3) Download and put the file where it says.
4) Enable the mod in the game in the mod list.
That's it.

Thanks to the author of the mod everything works perfectly.

И вот зачем было все так усложнять. Оставили бы старую версию для тех кто не хочет 10 часов разбираться с вашей ГЕНИАЛЬНОЙ установкой.

Hey, just wanna say your EPIP mod was pretty useful. I won't be making use of all the settings, but there are some things here I had wished was present in DSO2 right from the get-go. As for those who are having issues, the website for EPIP has a section called "Download" under the Table of Contents. Read what is has to say and follow the instructions. As for EPIP itself, well it's a pak so it goes into the mod folder for DSO2 like any other mod. It really was simple to setup. Right now playing with another 20ish mods and I haven't spotted anything funky after 3-4 hours. Looks good :D

Hi would love to use Epip v.1070 from your website but inspite of following the installation guide (I put the ScriptExtenderUpdateConfig.json in DefEd/bin where the DXGI.dll of the ScriptExtender is located) the Script Extender won't update to v.60 and an error message occurs that the Epip mod could not be loaded because it requires Script Extender v.60. The Script Extender version in the bottom right of the welcome screen also reads v59 so it does not get updated. What am I missing? Your help would be much appreciated.
