Medieval Overhaul Misc. Patches

Description
Updated 6/30/23: check change notes for details.

This mod contains a collection of patches that try to harmonize a variety of mods with Medieval Overhaul. This is my first mod and I haven't playtested much so any feedback or suggestion is appreciated.

For people who use SeedsPlease:Lite, you can use Cherry Picker to remove the MO wheat, sugar, and herb for the seed extraction recipe to work with the VCE changes.

Compatible with Medieval Overhaul Tweaks and Medieval Cross-Functionality Patches+ probably. I use both and haven't noticed an issue.

Supported mods and their changes are listed below:

Alpha Animals:
  • AA pawns now spawn in Dark Forests and Ancient Forests at the same rate as temperate forests

Apothecary (Continued):
  • A permanent version of the charcoal kiln is now available
  • Charcoal kiln and the bench recipe for charcoal now converts wood to charcoal at 150% efficiency (1 wood log = 1.5 charcoal)
  • The kiln and bench recipe now use MO wood types
  • Recipes that use Apothecary's tallow now use MO's tallow
  • Charcoal is now a fuel type for MO's production and heat producing buildings
  • Charcoal now supports the following mods:
    • Vanilla Cooking Expanded

    • Vanilla Cooking Expanded
    • Vanilla Cooking Expanded - Stews
    • SRTS Expanded Medieval Tweaks and Translation

[JDS] Castle Walls:
  • Increased base health to 2200 to try to justify the cost and build time

  • Turrets no longer break down

Magical Menagerie:

  • Displacer beasts and owlbears now drop hides which still give their respective leathers
  • Faerie dragons drop scale hides
  • Basilisks and medusas drop regular leather so they can still drop antipet
  • If you have VFE-Insectoids loaded, rust monsters and annihilators also drop chitin

[O21] Outland - Core:

Race to the Rim:
  • Dragons now spawn in MO biomes at the same rate as temperate forests

  • Replaced some raw plant drops with MO equivalent
  • Salt ores now drop VCE salt
  • Mineshaft salt recipe now drops VCE Salt

I was going to wait until official MO was updated but I don't know how much longer that would be. I'll start looking into the bugs soon

is this mod still needed to this date to fix these things?

@Tashka Hi my friend, where did you add to ? My flour cannot used in MO bread making:steamsad:
Psyckosama 12 Aug, 2024 @ 9:58pm
Any way to make this usable with Medieval Overhaul Patches

@Tashka Where do I need to add that? I can't find what file to add that to

I messed around and managed to fix flour at least, probably the rest is related to this. Basically i needed to add VCE flour to DankPyon_Flour category:

<Operation Class="PatchOperationAdd">
<xpath>Defs/ThingDef[defName="VCE_Flour"]/thingCategories</xpath>
<value>
<li>DankPyon_Flour</li>
</value>
</Operation>

I have figured out what is happening, but it raises more questions than it solves.
<Operation Class="PatchOperationFindMod"> is failing to detect VCE despite the fact that all of the other patches apply. Its anybodies guess as to how that is working.

Doesn't seem like the patches for VCE are applying correctly for the unoffical 1.5 MO. All MO recipes use MO ingredients rather than the VCE ones and as there is no way to get MO ingredients (strangely MO plants are patched to all drop the VCE equivalent so the patches are applying) it renders all MO recipes uncookable.

I would it if the plants from vanilla plants extended were locked behind medieval overhauls agriculture research

@gunn22 Yeah so those errors are because things were changed or removed from MO's side. The only one that I can see affecting your gameplay is the cheese error. Basically it just won't replace the recipes that use MO cheeses with VCE cheese. I'll fix it at some point after the official one updates
