Description
Cofagrigus crawls out of the sandy crypts of Unova and into Rivals of Aether!
This floaty heavyweight has massive range, but big potential to be combo food! Watch out though, let your guard down and you'll fall prey to it's Mummy's Curse!

This character was created in just a month by Flophawk and DynamicLemons of Fighting Polygon Team for the Workshop Pokejam.

MOVELIST

Mummy Ability: When getting hit by moves where Cofagrigus either uses it's body or ghostly powers to attack, the opponent will be inflicted with Cofagrigus's Mummy Curse. While under the effects of the curse, any moves that don't land will cause the user to take 1% damage, much like Ranno's poison. Attacking Cofagrigus while cursed will send the curse right back, so either turn the tables or wait for the timer to run out!

Jab: A 4 hit jab with no finisher that can infinitely be cancelled into itself.
FTilt: A large slap forward.
DTilt: A low sweeping blow with a long range. Only hits close to the ground.
UTilt: A large upward swipe with huge range but low KB.

FStrong: A slow but powerful clap forward. Has a lot of start and endlag and a sweetspot on the hands.
DStrong: Cofagrigus uses the move Phantom Force to retreat into the ground. While charging, Cofagrigus's hurtbox is nearly completely gone. The center hitbox of this move inflicts Mummy, as Cofagrigus uses its body to attack.
UStrong: Cofagrigus uses its powerful arms to thrust itself into the air, and doesn't come back down. Useful for escaping grounded attacks, but likewise the sweetspot doesn't hit grounded opponents. (...unless they're absurely tall)

NAir: Cofagrigus spins its limbs around itself, creating a circular multihitting whirlwind of slaps.
FAir: A single slap forward, with small vertical range but massive horizontal range.
BAir: Cofagrigus uses Shadow Claw with all four hands, creating a multihitting cross slash behind itself.
DAir: A powerful spike with long windup. This move extends far downward, so hitting the sweetspot could be awkward. On the other hand, if timed well this move can hit below platforms. This move inflicts Mummy, as Cofagrigus attacks using its body.

NSpecial: Cofagrigus charges up Will-O-Wisp. At each level of charge the move's range and projectile will increase, with the third charge level yielding 3 long range projectiles. This move inflicts Mummy. Parrying this move will send the cluster flying back at Cofagrigus, so use this to give Cofagrigus the Mummy effect and even the odds!
FSpecial: Cofagrigus uses Snatch to grab the opponents that are inflicted with Mummy, slamming them into the ground before dragging them forward. If attack is pressed during the dragging Cofagrigus will throw the opponent forward, but if time runs out it will simply let go with minor knockback. If this move connects in the air it will always fall to the ground before continuing, meaning landing this move offstage will lead to a suicide kill. Pressing Parry will also drop the opponent, and hitting the edge of a stage of platform will cause the opponent to be thrown automatically.
DSpecial: Cofagrigus uses Hex, a small Rest type move with long endlag. If the opponent is inflicted with Mummy its power dramatically increases. Otherwise landing the move on an uncursed will cancel it immediately.
USpecial: Cofagrigus uses Ominous Wind to propel itself upward. This move deals no direct damage, but the wind left behind will curse any opponent that touches it.

Hey, would you try to make a Runerigus mod? I think it would be fun to use, with a more erratic kind of moves.

thats fair, the hurtbox is already huge right now tho it really would not need a nerf lol

While I absolutely love this character, I find it weird that he's meant to be a heavyweight and yet isn't. His knockback adjustment is 1, which is the same as Clairen, Zetterburn, Orcane, Forsburn, Mollo, and Olympia. This just means he dies way earlier than Sylvanos, Shovel Knight, Kragg, Elliana, Etalus, and Hodan (the heavyweights). I feel like he should have a lower knockback adjustment, and maybe a slightly wider hitbox to be generous.
So, my only real gripe is false advertising. Other than that, this character is solid. Their huge attacks are heavily balanced out by their terrible frame data, so I'd say they're pretty good.

considering fspecial release is supposed to be a bad thing the timer being so lenient that youd basically never see it was really bad gjshgsfj
