LASER Spark / Mec Trooper Integration

Abstract
In a recent work (LA-MC-RD) created Spark classes. This work incorporates those classes as classes for MEC Troopers, to accomodate the use of h4ilst0rm's fun Modular Sparks.



Overview
Project LASER Proficiency Sparks has been a great buff to Sparks, but ever since the release of Modular Sparks, many found they find the new approach more interesting. But as the author's mama used to say, "Never let a good mod go to waste", and so the Proficiency Spark classes have been repurposed as classes for RealityMachina's fun Mec Trooper mod.

Technically, this mod creates three new identical classes to the Proficiency Spark classes, but these classes serve as Mec Trooper. Since these are new classes, you can keep using Proficiency Sparks for Sparks, and have identical classes for MEC Troopers and Sparks.

This mod does not remove the original MEC Trooper classes, but it is easy to do so (see Configuration below). Every (human) soldier class can promote to any of the three Proficiency Spark classes. It is possible to set some matching between weapon categories and MEC Trooper classes, but currently there is no intention for doing it.
The new classes share Proficiency ability with the base Proficiency Spark classes, and unlocking it will affect both MEC Troopers and Sparks with the ability.

Is this balanced?

Seriously though, using these classes on MEC Trooper instead of Sparks is technically a nerf: MEC Troopers are susceptible to mental problems, and cannot be deployed when injured. Other than that, "balance" is a food, for all that the author cares for.


Configuration
This mod is entirely config based. If you want to remove the default MEC Trooper classes, then follow the instructions in XComGameCore.ini. To set pairings between the weapons used by the soldier originally and the MEC Trooper class, see the XComGameCore.ini of the original MEC Trooper mod. Like mentioned, there is currently no intention of providing such configs myself.


Compatibility
Should work with anything that the normal MEC Trooper mod and Proficiecny Sparks work with. As mentioned above, there's no problem in using those classes both for MEC Troopers and for Sparks.


Required Mods
The required mods are strictly required. Make sure to check the long requirement list of Proficiency Sparks mod. Technically, if you do not intend to use Proficiency Spark classes as Spark classes, then you can ignore the Custom Spark Class Support requirement.


Known Issues
  • When using Overdrive, the soldier will fire a cosmetic shot in the air, and declare it missed. This is purely cosmetic, the ability works.

I don't see how this would be related, MOCX Mec Troopers and XCom MEC Troopers are completely unrelated to the best of my understanding.

After i installed this mod a MOCX MEC spawned bugged (static/invisible/with HP to kill)

ok thanks to Zelfana we found the issue. There's a typo in the MEC Trooper Redux mod that prevented it from doing this automatically. You can do it manually.
In the local mod you created, in XComGameCore.ini add:
below the header
[PlayableMECTroopers.UIChooseMec]
these three lines:
+MecClasses="AbiziMecArtillery"
+MecClasses="AbiziMecTank"
+MecClasses="AbiziMecInfiltrator"
