Description
General Info

It's strange being one of the foremost experts on a(n extremely) half-baked fantasy language. On the one hand, it's an extremely useless thing to be an expert in. On the other hand, it offers an opportunity for mild amusement. As such, I present a standalone version of something I did for another mod.

FAQ

Q: Will you translate <insert item here>?
A: Give me a name and I will provide the closest available translation(s). Unit descriptions are right out, as Khazalid has even less of a lexicon than Klingon.

Q: Buh. Update plis. Launcher sez yellow!
A: Not a question. If you spent the amount of time it took to type that inanity out to launch the game, you'd have no reason to post. This will literally never need updated unless CA adds more Dwarf units.

Q: Can I use X in another mod?
A: Knock yourself out. The idea of intellectual monopoly is so 1715 AD. Just be sure to give credit where credit is due, and let me know (if you'd be so kind).

Compatibility

Fully save game compatible.
Compatible with anything that does not alter the names of Dwarf units.

thanks, i remember the rulebook for 6th had a lexicon as well and they had something for a "lonely hut" gonna check if something you wrote matches

There is no Khazalid word for alone or any similar qualifier, either in the old lore or in the new lexicon CA is passing off as Zharralid. Luckily, there's a way around if via transliteration of existing words.

The most likely ways for you to get around that would be to use a pronoun with a group modifier (Afal, Ekal, Umal, Utal) or an indefinite modifier (Afen, Eken, Umen, Uten) if describing someone personally. Using the word for Widow (Grun, presumably expressed as Gruni in this situation) could work if referring to something descriptively.

If we translate literally, "Afen Grunit." is "I am (for now) slightly a widow." but may be transliterated to "I'm a bit lonely." Similar results follow from different root and modifier pairings.

Good luck. There's only so many sensible things to name them in Khazalid and you'll probably go through all of them a few times over.

The extant Etharin lexicon isn't nearly as useful for the purposes of unit names.
