Description
Atlas-class submarines are usually deployed alone or in groups to start, survey and protect the construction of new outposts. Well armed and with an impressive triad of ballasts, they can withstand several hull breaches without sinking.

How to play
The main feature of the Atlas are the three enormous ballast tanks situated in the middle: this enables the sub to reach high descent speeds while at the same time being relatively safe from hull breaches, also thanks to the abundance of doors and small pumps and lack of ducts, which help containing floods.

Primarily designed as a transport sub with reasonable cargo space, the Atlas is often used to begin and oversee the construction of new outposts; despite that, its straightforward design and more than reasonable armament make it a surprisingly effective combat vessel, with few blindspots to boot thanks to the two electric discharge coils covering the vast majority of the outer hulls.

Since the three ballasts take up such a great amount of space, the interiors are actually relatively simple to navigate through; remember that the power grid's junction boxes are scattered around the sub rather than inside a single room, which can make electrical repairs a bit of a chore.

Author's notes
Big ballasts, good weapons, good cargo, all crafting (minus research): the Atlas is meant to be a very straightforward lategame option that doesn't miss out on too many functions. As mentioned, its junction boxes are rather scattered, but the simple layout can greatly help with that, not to mention the fact that the most important ones are relatively close to begin with (keeping the ones in both the reactor and engine rooms in good conditions is enough to keep the sub operative). All of this should make the sub quite manageable for its size even for smaller crews. Be wary, however, that there's some distance between the gun loaders and the ammo racks.

As an additional feature, it's possible to toggle the control of the sub between command and the console in the aft access shaft (doable from the main command terminal), which can help in case of a critical situation that makes command inaccessible or dangerous.

Note: pumps in the Atlas are 25% faster than normal.

Other subs I've made:

Katyusha 34 Battlecruiser
Magellan Science Vessel
Acolyte Spearhead Sub
Die Königin Command Sub
Scrapjack Bomber
Audace Stealth Corvette
Bulwark Heavy Assault Sub

Just a heads up - this mod seems to be missing the workshop tag for submarine.
