Description
This job is mainly centered on the usage of melee blades like a Katana. Hence the name, Blade.
Inspired by Katana films, movies or video games, the Job has talents that add buffs for using melee weapons like a Katana.

Talent Trees
  • SWORD SMITH, boosts to crafting, and Weapons Skill, and an optional crew buff talent.
  • BLADE MASTER, Several different perks to spice up your Melee Gameplay.
  • WARRIOR SPIRIT, Buffs for both you and your crew to better survive combat.

  • The Blade has 15 more HP than other jobs, leaving them at a maximum of 115 base HP.
  • You can only have 2 Blade players at a time. In singleplayer, you can obtain 1 Blade at the start of the game, and 2 NPCs via encounter. (The 2 NPCs now start at all skills 5, except for Weapons which is 15.)

Adds 3 katanas and a variant:
The Katanas are based off of Rani's Katanas stats and can be obtained via the job's talents and fabricating. All of the katanas can be crafted up to Masterwork Quality.

You can equip the katana to an empty belt slot by double clicking it from your hot bar. Allowing you to wear it on your hip/side. Double click the Katana from your belt slot to equip it in your hands. If you are wearing something in your belt slot already, then you can just equip it from your hot bar like a normal weapon.

Internal Damage 5, Laceration 18, Bleeding 20, Stun 0.5, Armor Penetration 20%
Attack speed 0.95
Recipe: 2 Steel Bar
Skill Required: Weapons 50

Hardened Katana:
Internal Damage 5, Laceration 30, Bleeding 20, Stun 0.5, Armor Penetration 31%
Attack speed 0.95
Recipe: Katana, 4 Depleted Fuel
Skill Required: Weapons 60

Physicorium Katana:
Internal Damage 5, Laceration 25, Bleeding 30, Stun 0.4, Armor Penetration 20%
Attack speed 0.85
Recipe: Katana, 2 Physicorium Bar
Skill Required: Weapons 70

Acid Physicorium Katana:
Internal Damage 5, Laceration 25, Bleeding 30, Burn 5, Stun 0.4, Armor Penetration 20%
Attack speed 0.85
Recipe: Physicorium Katana, 2 Sulphuric Acid
Skill Required: Weapons 70, Mechanical 45

HF Murasama:
(20% Attack Speed boost with Energy Core.)

The High Frequency Blade uses cool mechanics from the "Sword Core" mod by another person, and is inspired by the Metal Gear Rising Revengeance High Frequency Blade.
When Aiming with a powersource, it supports the User in combat, increasing their resistance, speed, and damage dealt by 20% each.
Energy Cores were added that last thrice as long, but also require thrice as long to recharge.
Using an Energy Core with the HF Blade will heal the user a small amount each hit via MCFC Electrolytes.
Murasama instead increases your attack speed by 20%.
Energy Core Recipe: Titanium-Aluminum Alloy, 2 FPGA Circuit, 1 Steel Bar, Zinc.
Skill Required: Weapons 100, Electric 60

Added 2 recruitable NPCs that randomly appear at outposts. They are both the same. The only difference is gender.
Walk up to them and talk to them to recruit them for free.
They both start at 5 in all skills except Weapons which will be 15.

This mod has been discontinued by its mod author. Please look for someone else creating a "Blade Job 2" or "Blade Job Rehashed" for future updates. Although it should still work just fine in the current game patch.

There is a problem. When I upgraded the skill in the "Blade Master" branch, this skill is 3 in number, and it's called something like "Blade Jerk or something like that." Roughly speaking, the first skill out of the 3 suggested ones. The bottom line is that, as the description says, I need to sit down and go to the side where I want to attack, while I have to attack the enemy, then I will make a dash back and forth to the original place, underwater and on land just does not work, the character just squats and that's it

i think it would be cool if it was unique recruit only, like artie dolittle, you got 1 blades man, if he dies it is over, no more swords man.

the event might be fixed with updating the outpostevents and specialnpcs files, or remove thos files to use the vanilla ones will fix the events most likely.

Is there a problem with this mod and pirate missions? A error message always shows up in the console whenever an outpost manager tries giving me pirate mission

I know you arent updating anymore but there are a few descriptions bugged, and the mods you mentioned that stealed your mod doenst seem to exist?

I just downloaded this mod, and it's a pity that It has been discontinued. I read the complaints of the other guy that stole your mod and I couldn't believe it, it's just a toxic crazy guy that rant about your mod just because he felt like it. The mod is great, and I hope you come back to modding barotrauma, it's a great game with great people, you just came across the biggest jerk I've ever seen. Either you come back or not, It's a great mod and I hope you are doing well.
