The ES Zurich Mk II is the first Ion Kite Cruiser to utilize a suspended nose alongside the shield neck typical for EuroSpace vessels. This shield setup offers the same protection for the 550% prism batteries on either side while strengthening the ship's frontal defense, which is typically more fragile with conventional shield necks. As with the previous version, 6 point defense batteries à 4 PD-guns round out the Mk II's defenses. Along with the upgraded engines that allow it remain out of range of enemy spinal weapons or shorter range weapons, the Zurich Mk II is a tought ship to crack. 4 EMP Launchers compliment the Ion Beams allowing for surgical strikes on enemy systems.

[Attention: The game currently has a missing feature where crew assignments are not copied along with loading the crew roles. That leads to broken ships. To work around, paste this ship in creative (do NOT create a grid first), then look at the assignments and memorize/take a screenshot. Then try to replicate assignments in career for a correctly working ship]

Interesting to see that my designs still hold up after so many months. I would've thought that, since I'm taking a break from the game, they would become obsolete quite quickly without constant updates.

Curse you Zurich! For lore reasons, I use kinetic-only builds without shields, and your ships have become the standard by which I measure my builds' effectiveness. Zurich and her cousin ships have such exceptional rearward thrust and point defense placement that I can't get a single shot through! I swear, it's as if EuroSpace designed their ships specifically to combat the Imperial Armada.

Fortunately I can overcome her simply because my designs are much cheaper, meaning I can overwhelm and get around to the flanks, but it's always a Pyrrhic victory.

Excellent build as always. Your designs are my number one bar for measuring the effectiveness of my ships, and they've taught me a lot about how to shore up the many weaknesses in my design philosophy.

And now to return the explody favor. Used a couple of your ships to test out my Ion boat, and under A.I. control the Zurich did the best.

I think the Railship I used was the Mk2. But more PD is rarely a bad thing.

Thank you for the shout out. You may find that the Mk 3 Mattock now carries slightly more point defense.

I look forward to fighting this guy when i get around to making a Mk 3 version of the mace.
