Description
Overview
Ever wanted to have some indication that a ship was jumping in near you? Now you can panic for a few seconds before it arrives, instead of after!

When any ship starts a jump sequence, players within 10km of the destination will receive an orange GPS marker indicating the point where the inbound ship will appear. This marker will last for 30 seconds by default.

Cancelling the jump will still result in a marker appearing, allowing a resourceful player to cause a false alarm, or add additional markers for clutter to disguise their actual jump.


Configuration Options
You can adjust the following in the "JumpAlertConfig.cfg" found in the Storage of your world save.
-AlertDistance: distance to detect jumps, measured from the player
-GPSDurationSeconds: duration of the GPS marker, in seconds
-GPSMarkerColor: color of the GPS marker, in RGB+alpha, 0-255 for each
-DisplayMarkersForYourJump: if markers should be made for your own jumps (defaults to true to try the mod solo)
-RandomizeBySize: adds dispersion based on the size of the grid
-RandomizeByRange: adds dispersion based on jump vs max jump distance, with more dispersion for a shorter jump
-RandomizeByDistanceFromPlayer: adds dispersion based on how far the jump is from the player, compared to the maximum alert distance. Further ones will be less accurate
-DEBUGShowDispersionDistance: adds a chat message with how far off the GPS marker is from the actual jump point, defaults to off. Intended for tinkering/world setup.

*Note the randomizations are cumulative

is there any mod that adds npc encounters that would spawn and use jump drives to get closer and attack? that would pair nicely with this mod

@James_ jumps BY an npc? Yes, if they are jumping with a IMyJumpDrive block and not being teleported via script, then this mod will pick up on the action. If you're wondering about NPCs being alerted to a jump nearby, there is no player to send a GPS notification to nor any additional coding to elicit any response.
