Extended Tech Tree Mod.

Description
This mod is meant to be used alongside my Extended Tech Tree Mod and will not function properly without it. If you are looking for the standard version of Mineable Gigaroids - Lite Edition, you can get it here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2907238729 . The Extended Tech Tree Mod can be found here https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2946411143

Please use either this version or the original version as they are not meant to be used at the same time. Except for the new resources, it is identical to the original Mineable Gigaroids - Lite Edition.

Because this version has the extra resources, mining the modified gigaroids will be a bit more profitable. I added the Ω sign to make it easier to see whether or not this is the expansion for the Extended Tech Tree mod or the standalone default version of this mod.

Don't install Mineable Gigaroids - Lite Edition if you are using this mod.

The add-on Mineable Gigaroids - Trade Station Add-on will also function correctly with this mod, as this mod functions as a replacement for Mineable Gigaroids - Lite Edition.
You can get it here:

The trade station addon will replace the asteroids surrounding trade or military stations with gigaroids, which will also mean more gigaroids will be present in any given star system.

.

Adds a low amount of mineable gigaroids to each star system.

Mineable Gigaroids are very large asteroids containing mostly iron AND copper, but also some carbon, tritanium, uranium, hyperium, silver, duranium and gold (and some will contain diamonds and letalium).

As a new feature, barren rocks may also drop resources, though only in small quantities. These rocks can be mined just like resource deposits.

Roughly 5 Mineable Gigaroids are to be found in each star system, usually within an asteroid field. Because the game spawner seems to sometimes be a bit funky, I added a new type of asteroid field to the game which is guaranteed to contain at least a couple of the new Mineable Gigaroids. These new asteroid fields also contain a low amount of Mineable Megaroids instead of only a lot of usually tiny default asteroids and will make these asteroid fields easier to navigate and mine. These mineable megaroids are very similar to the ones in my Mineable Megaroids mod. These new asteroid fields will only spawn 1 (or sometimes 2) in each star system.

Even though mineable gigaroids are not as large as my Mineable Dwarf Planets, these are still massive asteroids and it will take some time and effort to mine them down.

.

Bugs and other things I should be aware of.

Version 1.3.1

Minor patch to mirror change set from Cosmoteer 0.28.2 where all vanilla asteroids are set as always visible when inside gas clouds.

Yes, the mod description of Mineable Gigaroids - Trade Station Addon states "It's safe to enable and disable this add-on during your current playthrough, but it needs Mineable Gigaroids - Lite Edition enabled to function properly as this is not a standalone mod."
Since you had Mineable Gigaroids disabled, you experienced the game not working anymore. Enabling this mod again or disabling its addon should fix this issue in your specific case.

Just to clarify for anyone reading here, there was nothing wrong with any of my mods.

Still wondering why this mod got disabled though, but perhaps best you take that up with the devs. Good luck.

oh I got you, so that's how it is
Then is time to feedback unsync bug to game devs
Thanks for your patience! :steamthumbsup:

@小晨2002: "CTD happens during the game start" with error "'SirCampalot.asteroid_8003' was not present in the dictionary." indicates you don't have this mod enabled, but you do have the Mineable Gigaroids - Trade Station Addon enabled.
小晨2002 11 Mar @ 2:50am
But I think I've roughly understood the source of this problem. It should be like a NullPointerException in Java. Someone tried access this null and none handle the error finally lead to CTD.

Then I couldn't understand... why did the game try to preload saves at startup?
Or say... the game is just trying to load all components in the mod list, have nothing to do with the saves?
小晨2002 11 Mar @ 2:35am
@SirCampalot:
uh in fact, we're not trying to load game?
CTD happens during the game start, not in game menu trying load any exist saves.
If you want, we can show you how to trigger this error by letting yourself follow what we done, the bug is stable and easy to reach
All you need to do is try to join our room, then the game will show you.

@小晨2002:
The error message "The given key 'SirCampalot.asteroid_8003' was not present in the dictionary" points to this mod.
This error indicates the game is trying to load up this asteroid, but cannot find it in your modlist due to you trying to load a non-new game with this mod disabled when the save you made earlier was made with this asteroid from this mod present.

tldr: usually it means someone tries to load an old save while having this mod not enabled anymore.

I don't know much about the 'synchronize mod' feature, you should ask the devs on discord if you have any questions about it.
小晨2002 10 Mar @ 8:54pm
@SirCampalot:
In fact there's no other error except leading game crash to desktop.(Perhaps we haven't encountered further problems yet) Just the game's 'synchronize mod' function somehow turned this mod off after synchronize with host, and cause CTD when we're trying to restart the game.
--Yeah there were 3 of we: the game made the same mistake to 3 us and we got 3 identical error logs lol
after reading the crash traceback and debugging for a period of time, I figured out that it's this mod's not enable lead us to CTD.
(and this is the point why I'm saying this mod is necessary to ETTM--cuz in what I saw is not enabling this mod is the culprit behind CTD-- also I wondering why)

I don't know about your specific error. Could be something funky happens when errors occur in coop?
I never played coop before (in cosmoteer that is) so I can't really tell.
SirCampalot  [author] 10 Mar @ 2:08pm
@小晨2002: Yes, it happens more often that people try to coop while I am patching one of my mods.
It's why I try to patch friday or monday as the weekends are usually most people playing, but impossible to avoid all of these situations as there will always be people playing. So sooner or later someone will get the short end of the stick again.
Little I can do about it except keep version numbers consistent (so people are more likely to spot the difference), to avoid patching during prime times (so fewer people for which this situation can occur) and to avoid doing lots of tiny patches.

So yeah, little I can do about it. It is mostly just bad luck if it happens to you.

Sometimes when stuff goes bad for someone, people forget that I am just a person like the next, except that I also make mods for free for people to use. I'm not a professional game programmer or something and I do make mistakes.

And thank you for your feedback.
