AGOT+

Description
Updated to AGOT version: 0.4.7.1
Do a clean reinstall of this mod each time it updates — Steam Workshop doesn't auto-update it!

This is a submod for A Game of Thrones aiming to brush up the gameplay experience by providing improved CoAs, DNAs, localisation fixes, and much more. Many features are toggleable via Game Rules!

Mod link for non-Steam users: Google Drive link[drive.google.com]

FEATURE BREAKDOWN
  • New CoAs: New coat of arms which I think overall look better, as well as fixes to colouration and positioning issues with existing coat of arms.
    - All CoA elements are included in a new CoA Editor category called "AGOT+".

  • New DNAs: New DNA for various characters and families, which can be enabled/disabled by regions via game rules. Many are based off of HBO's Game of Thrones, but not all.

  • Canon Children system: Canon children can be dynamically born into an ongoing game via a game rule. Will constantly be updated and expanded over time.

  • Sweeping localisation fixes: Vanilla AGOT contains many localisation problems which I aim to fix in this mod. This includes fixing typos, improving the flow of sentences, correcting grammatical mistakes, map cleanup, and much more.

  • New trait icons: New icons for some traits.

  • Fixed cultures: Added game rule to remove non-canon Westerosi cultures on game start.
    - To account for this, cultures now start with 6 base traditions instead of 5.

  • Fixed heresies: Added game rule to remove non-canon Westerosi heresies on game start.

  • Early-game survivability: Added game rule to grant everyone a 10-year modifier to boost their health and fertility.
    - Vanilla AGOT has a problem with characters dying early on or not having children quick enough, both resulting in the extinction of their 1000-year old Houses. This game rule aims to help Houses get off their feet early on.
    - Certain people are excluded from this, such as if they explicitly have a weak physique.

  • Cadet branch decisions: Certain Houses have a special decision available to establish cadet branches from a pre-defined list (such as in the screenshot above with the Baratheons).

  • New 3D models: New 3D models in-game with more on the way. E.g., armour, weapons, crowns, etc.

  • New events: Adds new story events for certain characters (will be further expanded upon in the future).

  • New loading screens: Adds new loading screens.

  • More changes: Several more changes are made to improve gameplay and provide a smoother experience behind the scenes. Many of these are toggleable via Game Rules!

COMPATIBILITY & LOAD ORDER
AGOT+ was made to be as compatibility-friendly as possible, so there should be minimal instances of hard incompatibility (crashes, etc). However, depending on where you put AGOT+ in your load order, you may find some things being overwritten, such as DNAs, CoAs, etc. If you notice these things, just lower AGOT+ in your load order.

AGOT+ should be placed under the base AGOT mod!

AGOT+ depends on the AGOT Submod Core to work, and must be placed under it in your load order.

i keep having issues with the Cannon Children on the 106 start date. either they wont be born at all or they'll be born late. not sure whats going on there.

@EBOU
That'll be in the next update. The current trait swap is a holdover from before the Alternative Traits game rule even existed, after which I started doing all that stuff there.

Fair enough really good submod btw. What makes Robert different from the others in the alternative traits rule because if I have that rule turned off it still changes his congenital trait?
Anumaril  [author] 23 hours ago
@EBOU
Harwin Strong doesn't have a congenital physique trait (that's not even something I did, it's just how it is in vanilla AGOT), so neither do his children.

Although I did explicitly give him the Strong trait in the Alternative Traits game rule to denote all the training he's done to earn his epithet.

Alot of Baratheons are described as strong but then again he does still have a congenital strength trait. I'd argue though if he doesn't have a tier 3 version neither should people like Harwin Strong.

This is more of a base AGOT thing but the strong boys should surely have the congenital strong trait not the training based one.

@EBOU
That's intentional, as Robert's strength primarily came from training, not being naturally born as such. He's not the Mountain. But in the next update I'm moving that trait swap to the alternative traits game rule so that the vanilla Robert experience can be preserved for those who prefer that.

Ah -

That was the issue, thank you for the speedy reply.
EBOU 19 Jul @ 12:27pm
For whatever reason Robert loses his tier 3 strength trait and it's replaced by a tier 1 strength trait.

Thanks for letting me know! It'll be corrected in the next Submod Core update. It looks like I added an unnecessary line to the barbershop display conditions for AGOT+'s armour, so none of it was showing in the barbershop anymore.

I launched a build of three mods AGOT, Agot Submod Core, Agot+, and visually the maesters have clothes (the new clothes look really cool!), but in the barbershop it is written as no clothes, and maybe this somehow causes an epidemic of naked maesters. My guess is that in larger builds, some mod redefines what a naked person looks like (naked, actually), and that's why the maesters are naked. Please check how the new maester clothes are defined in your modification, in the barbershop it is really written as no clothes (at least for me it is). Thanks for the wonderful mod, without which I can't imagine my game in AGOT.
