Description
"After a blazing hot afternoon, Sandtrap is beginning to cool down as the sun sets beyond the shrine. However, the conflict taking place here is just getting warmed up."

*This mod has been patched to function with the February 28th, 2025 MCC update.*

My next mod is a very simple one. It is based on my own Sandtrap AI War mod, however does not feature any AI and is more intended for PvP combat, as well as machinima production, or players seeking a new look for a familiar friend. I received a request from one of my followers to make this map, and I am pleased to release it today. The map features a dusk theme, as well as an increased Forge budget of 6000 points. Outside of this, the map is identical to the original Sandtrap.

There are some lighting bugs present from me changing up the sky, and currently I am confused as to how to fix them. If placed objects that you see are glowing incorrectly such as weapons, vehicles, and equipment - pick them up with the Forge editor, move them around slightly and drop them again. The lighting bug will cease to affect that object. It is also apparent when you look straight down at the floor. I am currently researching a fix to this. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know!

Just want to take a sec and let you guys know that this mod is once again functional. It has been updated to work with the latest MCC patch released on July 12th.

@Red Sentinel I'm glad to hear you liked the map! So I basically got to where this map is now with a lot of trial and error to be honest. There really isn't many guides and hints out there for many of the Halo Editing Kit functions, so I was left no other choice but to do it myself. Firstly I changed the sky to the Sandbox one, and then changed out the atmospheric file, chocolate mountain file, new lightmaps file, and performance throttles. This is the result and it looks mostly good, although there are still lighting bugs present as I described in the description. These I have no idea how to fix. I know there is a way to render new lightmaps for a scenerio, but I do not know where to start with doing it. I bet the map will look even better after doing that. Once I find out how to render lightmaps properly i'll certainly do it.

I have to commend you on this. I wanted to do this a long while back and made my own map with the Sandbox skybox on Sandtrap, but I was told the baked lighting was a pretty delicate subject to mess with. How did you change the lightmaps on this to reflect the new skybox in the environment on Sandtrap if you don't mind me asking?
