Tired of feeding your prisoners Lavish Meals?
Need your animal handlers to stop bonding with livestock?
Want a colonist to avoid getting a new lover?
Have a worker on construction duty but shouldn't be building artistic furniture?


Pawn Rules is a mod that allows custom rules to be assigned individually to your colonists, animals, guests and prisoners. Default rules can be set for new pawns and new born animals will inherit their mother's rules.

Currently the following rules can be applied:
  • Disallow certain foods
  • Disallow bonding with certain animals
  • Disallow new romances
  • Disallow constructing items that have a quality level

Any of these rules can be disabled and hidden from the rules window. Rules presets and defaults can be imported and exported between games.

How to open rules dialog
Select a pawn and the rules button should appear next to the draft button. If you are using RimHUD then the rules button is integrated in the HUD and replaces the food restriction button.

Technical details
No update should ever break an existing game and this mod be added or removed at any time without issue.

Compatibility
This mod is not compatible with my other mod Animal Food Restrictions as this mod has a much more robust restriction system.

Other languages
For translators: Instead of including other languages with this mod, I would prefer and welcome translators to upload and maintain a language submod. If any translator would like the logo and art assets for this mod please contact me on Discord.

Pawn Rules supports addons created by other modders by allowing easy creation of new rule options while handling the GUI and world storage saving. Check out the wiki on addons.[github.com]

of all mods in all of rimworld this with achtung are THE mods that should have been in vanilla from the START and its honestly insane that vanilla hasnt added even A QUARTER of EITHERS functionalities in all this time ngl

everyone is complaining about sos 2 or fishing... but THESE are the real kickers if you ask me

I am loving going through my entire modlist and seeing which mods are breaking things. Somehow this mod breaks map generation for me, and I cannot imagine why or how xD Loved this mod a lot, here's hoping you have the time to update eventually :3

is it possible to have that you can hide the pawn rules in mod options because if someone has mods that adds ability's it can get a full full
and if they want to decrease the amount of things shown

Is it possible to request a feature of setting global rules that are the "default" defaults for new saves? As it is the default rules of no restrictions allow pawns to eat hemogen packs as food which decimates stockpiles because packs have a nutrition of 0.1 each if I don't change it as the first thing every save.

I found a bug that would rewrite the food regimen as "<overreach", which would result in people being unable to be fed and eventually dying of malnutrition.

Is there a possibility to add "allow only artisan" so my best builder-crafter wouldn't waste time on useless stuff?
