Modular Reform

Description
This is a remake of Modular Form by Mikeastro, with a very similar layout, yet a quite different solution. There are just as many connections, but one less portal surface (which makes it a better puzzle, evidently). You may want to play the original first, but that's not mandatory of course.

Notes:
- Jail bars will let you through, but they will block cubes.
- Some timing is required, but it should be lenient enough for the vast majority of players. All intended moves are easy to perform, if done in the correct manner.
- Dropping a cube with the funnel at a very specific place or angle, is not intended.
- Shooting two portals in very quick succession, hoping to move a cube just slightly using the funnel, is not intended.
- Off-centered portals, angled laser through portal, tight angles, cube throwing, glitches and other shenanigans are not part of the intended solution.

Estimated difficulty: 6/10

Huge thanks to:
- DiDo Killer! for playtesting, advising and putting up with my continued inability to spot obvious exploits. Without him, the map would be massively broken. My appreciation also goes to Dark Rozen for helping with the final playtesting phase.
- Narkodes for the technical help and Libbybapa for the custom jail bars item.
- Mikeastro for the great music and for providing inspiration.

Yeah that move your video requires some dexterity, to an extent that I believe it should "feel" unintended enough. Spider Dawg's video actually shows the exact intended solution (with a minor variation on the cubes' positions at the end), by the way thank you for sharing that video!

Thanks for playing and sorry it didn't feel as rewarding as it should have. I know there's still a couple of unintended solutions left but trying to fix them all broke my motivation back when I released the map, so I won't edit it again

the track platform has an obvious lack of reuse now :steamsad:. Cool puzzle nonetheless, favourited

Nice puzzle, I've liked the funnel state switching, but the ending itself doesn't feel rewarding, likely because of the couple less satisfying solutions the player may stumble upon sooner than the intended one

The move in your solution is possible (although as your video shows not easy to repeat) but it is not as satisfying as the intended solution which uses the platform. Here's a video of a nearly intended solution if you need a hint, but I'd recommend sticking with it until you get it yourself.

My solution

At first, I approached this with Modular Form thinking and discovered many interesting logics, but still got stuck. Frustrated, I started over and wandered for a long time without knowing how to solve the puzzle. Later, I found that there were actually two portals in the exit area that could be seen (within a short period of time). So, I tried an action that I had subconsciously ruled out, and it worked! I ended up with a solution that was unexpected, and surprisingly, I didn't use any moving platforms throughout. Honestly, I'm really confused and curious about intended solutions.

@jandlml
No thank YOU for your patience, as this one could be considered somewhat broken (despite all my efforts) xD

Damn, sorry for my unresponsiveness those last few days, and thank you Spider Dawg for helping jandlml in my place. It seems you two have figured out the intended solution in the end, fantastic work!! Spider, your last video indeed shows the exact planned route, up to the way you set up the final respawn (there's a couple different possible positions for the cubes. And jandlml, your explanation was pretty clear actually, and because you found the intended way this time I understood it very well :)
That one step involving pushing the cube on the track platform to then bring the cube to you by activating the platform was the core move I wanted to implement with this remake. It's a shame there are still a few alternate ways possible, although they don't feel as clean I guess. Still, big congrats to the both of you, because this one definitely is tough! You conquered another one ;)
