Description
All the vanilla submarines but with multiple quality of life changes, additions and mild structural changes; adding a bit of workshop spice to the vanilla experience while staying balanced.

This mod makes the following changes and includes the following workshop mods:
  • Smartdoor for automatic doors that close and require a button press in the event of a hull breach.

  • A modified version of Smart Hatches, including a discreet set-and-forget switch to toggle between automatic or manual door operation on a per hatch basis. Set the light to green for automatic hatches, or red for vanilla-like manual hatches. Both will close and require a click in the event of fire or hull breaches.

  • A modified Ultra Optimized Perfect Airlock that was hand placed for each individual sub and uses two pumps alongside duct blocks for quick pressurization to and from the subs.

  • The UFO Support Drone attached to every sub. This is a balanced and fun drone that doesn't have any weapons, but can give the captain something to do while the away team works and it's great at scouting caves. Gets destroyed pretty easily, but can be repaired with a welding tool.

  • The Wi-Fi monitor assemblies from Wifi Camera. They are best used alongside the wifi cameras mod so that you can watch your away team through camera helmets, but the monitors easily work with any wifi device for CCTV purposes.

  • Color coded reactor fuel percentages added to the reactor's "screen" for every submarine.

  • Metrics to the captain's terminal and other monitors on larger ships, also color coded at certain percentages/depths.

  • A modified FDF-Chopper Shuttle that can be driven manually or with wi-fi, currently attached only to the Kastrull.

  • Gun positions remained the same, but gun periscope positions were moved for better quality of life and labeling of where each turret is located.

  • Better lighting in general and most subs without fabricators/deconstructors/medfabs had them added and linked to the appropriate storage.

  • Subs that did not have a top/bottom airlock were given one when it was feasible, all subs with bottom airlocks were given docking hatches attached to the main sonar for docking to beacon stations, etc.

  • Because of the extra additions, the price of each Alpha sub has been increased by 3000mks from its vanilla counterpart.

Thanks for checking out the mod, and have fun! Please do let me know if you run into any issues or errors. If you enjoyed the workshop mod additions to the submarines please also follow the links and give those mod creators some love!

Upcoming Features:

- A cosmetic pass on every sub to spice things up a bit using Decotrauma's awesome item assemblies.

Check out my other mods!

Omega Vanilla Subs - If you're looking for a more vanilla experience without all the structural changes or extras, but keeping some quality of life.

Bigger Deconstructor - Increases the Deconstructor input from 3 to 8 slots, so you can break down more of that junk laying around in one trip.

Station From Beyond Auto - If you use Stations From Beyond but want to have automatic doors at all of the great outposts they made.

Stations From Beyond Dynamic Europa Auto - If you want to use Stations From Beyond alongside Dynamic Europa and have automatic doors for all the outposts from both mods.

Specifically, at some point mid-mission the airlock will just break and stop working, seems like the logic is bugged now.

fyi, the latest patch of barotrauma broke "Ultra Optimized Perfect Airlock" I think

Any possibility we'll get a version for community curated subs?

I made an item assembly that makes water ducts smarter than vanilla by checking if the room below is flooded/breached before opening the vent and subsequently flooding the upper room in its attempt to drain the upper room into a breached & flooded lower room. You might like it in your mod's subs that use water ducts, if any do, since you have breach-related door sealing

:)

Can’t wait to see the new changes/features

Ha! Nice! We too have an UFO drone spliced into our subs. Ours is just slightly tweaked for extra difficulty. I also set the periscope and controls for the drone near glass walls so that the captain can be snatched by some monsters if he's not careful with his surroundings and sonar :)

@Etto I think I might have figured out the pathing problem for fixing leaks. If not, I found at least A problem with it.

With the automatic doors you have requiring a button press in the event of a hull breach. Certainly understandable and appreciated, however the AI does not understand this and so it gets stuck trying to go through a door that is "sealed" because of a hull leak. This forces player to open the door for them.

Here's a screenshot of what I mean. Barsuk, lower bow section is flooded because of a hull breach but the AI can't reach it because the door won't open for them so they are getting stuck.

i first played with the dugong and experienced the faulty pathing thinking its a one off thing. But the second sub i tried, orca 2 had the same problems. I will advance in my campaign a bit more in the upcoming days and test a tier 3 sub to see if the same problems occur

@Certified Meth Smoker, I'll take a look. Which sub were you working with so that I can take a closer look?

@Starempire42, Thanks for the compliments and support! I've been working on a lot of outpost modules recently, but I'll get back to sprucing these up before long. Especially if stuff started breaking in the recent update, hahah.

the newest update seems to have broken npc pathing in the sub, specifically when fixing leaks.
