Semi-Automatic Pistol
1d6 -> 1d4 dmg
Low -> Medium Accuracy
Costs 900 action points (instead of 1000) to fire

Pump Shotgun
45 -> 25 Spread (better than the combat shotgun)

Chaingun
Uses strength instead of agility to aim

Rifled Barrel
Mod: Weapon is advanced to the next best accuracy tier.
Physical, non-electric, non-bow firearms only (you need a barrel to rifle)
12 becomes 8, 8 becomes 4, 4 is reduced by 2 with a minimum of 0

Rapid Reloader
Reloading this weapon costs 75% less energy
(Weapons with greater than 250 energy cost to reload only)

Strength to aim serves to simulate recoil control
Semi-automatic effect serves to simulate how modern weapons cycle faster

Why did I make this mod?
To be honest, no real reason. I wanted a gun that could kill a lategame enemy without requiring an energy cell. I make no claims on quality, realism, or balance.

Where will this mod go from here?
Adding the smart gun
Adding the hand cannon (tier 1 heavy weapon, a cannon you hold in your hands)
Adding the kraken-shot gun, a high tier shotgun that fires 3 ludicrously strong slugs
Adding BurstMissileWeapon, a missileweapon child that makes burst fire visually distinct from shotguns
Adding the rifled mod

@Tyrir done, let me know if that worked

To help with mod compatibility, would it be possible to update the blueprints for the 3 vanilla guns and the various vanilla ammo to Load="Merge" in the changes please? (or just remove the unchanged blueprints entirely like some of the ammo?)

Currently, the blueprints Inherit and thus override any other mods that happen to load before as well as some thing that seem unintentionally overridden e.g. reload sounds that don't appear to function.

I guess this is a case of the "Tiffany effect".

Tungsten revolver sounds much better to me. Funny thing is that first I came across the nanopneumatic jackhammer, I did check if it was from a mod.
Gravenwitch  [author] 27 Nov, 2024 @ 5:03pm
@Smaug I have considered renaming the magnum revolver, however 'magnum' does not originate from the cartridge, the cartridge is called "magnum" because magnum means big / great. Another example of this is the nanopneumatic jackhammer, whose name originates from the 1900s United States.

I think a good alternative name would be tungsten revolver to match the naming convention of the chrome revolver, while still implying weight and power. I see no downside to changing the name, so I'll likely do so next update.

I am currently preparing my mods for the 1.0 release, so the next update might not be for a long while. Thanks for the feedback!

I feel like naming a pistol after a cartridge from the time immemorial goes against the established lore. As most everything from the time of the Eaters and before has been lost to the sands of time.
