Stalingrad South - Yelschanka v1.0

Description
Created with the use of German Aerial Reconnaissance photos and further backed by historical footage, documentation, and first-hand accounts. From the topography to its flora, meticulous attention to detail is being put into creating a historically accurate, 1:1 scale reproduction of this 1.1km² area located in the south of Stalingrad. As we are attempting to make this map mimic, as accurately as we can, the state of the battlefield as it was in September 1942, this map will be updated as new information becomes available to us.

Notes and Important Information:
This map is completely playable in domination but you will notice that the capture points in the Battle Zones game mode are not set up correctly. This has been done intentionally to accommodate Test Mode battles which we use in our own campaigns where we fight with the actual historical forces deployed in this area.

This map is designed for up to 8 players, exceeding this number will likely cause a crash.

Although this map is completely functional in vanilla, we have found that it's topography plays really well with extended range and/or realism mods and so we recommend those in order to enhance your experience.

Whenever a new update comes out, we recommend resubscribing to the map to make sure it works.

You have our permission to use this map as you see fit so long as we are credited and any uploads have links redirecting here.

All of the AI are activated evern when you have 1 enabled. turns into a 8v1 no matter what. :steamfacepalm:

@mguthrie88 Hey thanks for commenting, we appreciate the feedback and take all of it into serious consideration. This project is first and foremost intended to recreate and capture the unique battle conditions present at the time which will inevitably cause game play balance to suffer. In the south of the city, as well as other areas, exposure to enemy fire and a lack of cover was a constant concern that both sides had to contend with, requiring caution and tactical ingenuity to overcome. This was only exacerbated by the firestorm caused by German bombing several weeks prior.

We appreciate that this type of experience may not be for everyone. If you are using a mod that provides realistic ranges you will probably notice as we did that the terrain is deceptive in how much cover it can provide if exploited effectively. That being said, this is an ongoing project meaning that where and how much cover is available is likely to be changed as information continues to trickle in.

Now that the map is out as v1.0 I will be going back and reviewing new information thats being provided to ensure this map is as accurate as possible. I will also be looking over the map for areas I can optimize.

This is a wonderful project, but one concern I have about the map design is there appears to be a lack of cover. But again, thank you for more maps!

Hmmmmm, not sure R4nd, but im more than happy to try and troubleshoot it with you. I myself have never messed with making scenarios.

excuse me but, why does the editor always crash whenever i make a mission file for the map? just making scenarios/AI battles but it seems i cant. it says gui:dialog (ok)?
