Description
Make a candy factory in Dwarf Fortress
This is a mod for Dwarf Fortress that adds a new workshop to the game called a Confectionery where you can craft confections such as candies, chocolates, caramels, gumdrops, and marshmallows. It also adds a new type of underground plant called Cave Cocoa that you can farm and create cocoa powder out of.

Candy = any syrup
Chocolate = cocoa powder + any sugar
Caramel = any milk + any sugar
Gumdrop = gelatin + any fruit + any sugar
Marshmallow = gelatin + any syrup


(Gelatin is made at a kitchen using bones.)

Consumption of any confection results in a syndrome known as "eating sweets", which induces euphoria in the creature.

Special thank you to users such as Droseran, DPh Kraken, and Putnam who essentially spoon-fed this mod's development to me.

Known issues:
-A vanilla bug is currently preventing the Confectionery workshop from using it's own custom building icon in the interface
-All confections are categorically treated by the game as if they were cheese, which has unnatural consequences such as them only being storable in cheese-type stockpiles to name 1 example

I am open to feature requests or changes, and please report any issues you might have.

i've published a small update to the mod to address some visual shortcomings of the ascii-mode experience. Special thanks to Zombie Giant Sponge for pointing them out.

@Illustrious Illusionist i've assigned those permissions to any of my own modded civs and you can definitely add them onto anyone else's as well, but whether they will still work if you've already generated the world before doing so, is doubtful!

Cave cocoa did appear as an embark item, it's just the confectionary that's not appearing as an option to build.

I play with several modded civs, and I absolutely don't expect this to work with those by default, but - do you know if it might be possible to paste the "permitted buildings/permitted reactions" text lines into a civ's entity document after world gen? I definitely have the mod installed, but the building isn't showing up.

Also, it won't let me grind cave cocoa into cocoa powder for some reason?
