Animal Feeder

Description
This mod add animal feeder buildings to the game.

The feeders differ from normal storage because they can change it's own storage priority, based on the natural growth of the plants of the Pen.

Limitations and Setup
  • Do not change manually the stock prioritym because it will be overriden.
  • Don't group with feeder in other Pens, because the group can have only one priority, and it will break the mod.
Also is important have an place to stock the food with priority less than Important (in a freezer), so haulers can store and retrieve when needed.

Is important to maintain the pens enclosed to work propelly.

04/04/2024 - 1.3
  • Created time to wait to Activate and Deactivate; Setting as zero will activate and deactivate immediately; This was created to avoid turn on and off in sequence, and to allow some kind of natural buffer before removing the food from the pen.
  • Checked for hungry animals inside the pen. If there is, it will override the natural growth settings;
  • Fixed bug fixes related to grouping the feeders;

  • Fixed Error when grouped and one is constructed and one is not;
  • Fixed miss behaviour when put inside a barn, separated by a animal flag;

it was not intended to work, but, is good news! I can't like put official tag on it, because then if there is any compatibility issues, I would need to fix... But if is ok for you, is good news!

The animal feeders need to be placed inside the pens... Your barn need to be outside the pen, otherwise, the animals will take the food from the barn instead the feeder...

About corpses, I was arguing with myself if I should add them, because like, in my mind, you will always put them into the pen... But I will change that, to allow...

About your setup... If you just put your barn stockpile (that is outside of the pen) as Low, Normal or Prefered priority, it will work fine... If you put Important or Critical, it won't take from the barn to the feeder...

To make it work as you want, not as a stockpile, but as a kind of production, it would require much more effort and workarounds... And it just work as it is... Isn't pretty, but works...

I will make another version of the mod that:
* Allows corpses;
* Have the option to allways receive food (To work as a sockpile, for cosmetic purposes);
* Have the option to specify the animal food consumption manually; So it won't turn on and off no animal amount fluctuation;

So given your instructions in the description, will this mod have any issue if the Animal Feeder is placed logically in the Barn (less chance of the fence breaking because of combat of mental breaks so the area is always enclosed).

Does it conflict with other food storage that is already priority Important on the map. Are corpses handled for animals that eat corpses. This may be important since Allowed Corpses on the map can go to butchering or to the manger for Pigs etc but require cold storage or they will quickly rot. Ideally they should just be turned into Kibble if they are not useful for anything else. Something I found yesterday but never noticed before, prisoners with prison labor mod ignore Allowed and will just take them and butcher them.

Like I will need to test it and see if it will work with all other prioritized Food storage on the map. It is so so hard to get Pawns to haul Food and Corpses (for pigs) to any storage in the pen for pen animals to eat

Example (with many mods active)

Kitchen has linked fridges and cold storage right next to butchering station and cooking station (this is not ideal since unsanitary but I work with it)
Storage, pen animal food for tamers
Cold storage, holds everything except pen animal food
Pen manger or barn, holds pen animal food after created at butchering table.
