Description

Yeah, I know, it's a anthro model which is ARA, a character by Fluff-Kevlar. I wanted to port AKM's models from L4D2 to GMod since his models are pretty neat looking. I remembered someone porting his Mia from World Flipper model and Alvaro porting Meow from Space Dandy, which I ported this over too as a playermodel and a ragdoll.

Like my other ports / conversions, this has stuff that makes it compatible with ARC9 so that the arms don't look wonky or weird with TPIK and it's viewmodels. She also has toggleable accessories to customize how she'd look a bit.
Yes, she's a cat robot. Don't ask me, that's is how Kevlar designed her anyways.


ARA is an Original Character by Fluff-Kevlar. She is a red & white cat with black markings and neon blue highlights, giving her an appearance of an sophisticated android.

She is depicted wearing a light blue dress with a grey collar and a headset with blue luminescent neon lights.
Not only that, she also wears various different outfits (not included in this addon).

‣ ARA's eyes are meant to have emissives but I honestly don't know how to set them up.

those are 3D eyes with the eye materials with i believe had $detail parameters applied to create emissives for the eyes so that they'll glow even in the dark which my other playermodels that had similar 3D eyes use.

it's not possible afaik to apply it with Eyes / EyeRefract shaders as i tried with my newer playermodels. but if it's a VertexLitGeneric, which 3D eyes would often use, it can be handled with $detail or $selfillum like what you've said.

A bodygroup with that kind of eyes would be so cool for this ngl. I'm pretty sure the official names given by Valve for this effect are "Self-illumination" and "Selfillum" on the source engine and is mostly changing the materials.

So what you see as "glowing" is just a regular texture whose material "lack" interaction with the shaders. And since it shows the full-bright version of the texture at all times regardless of the map's lighting, it sells the effect of it casting light, when in reality it isn't.

whats the point of anything the whole damn usa is riddled with furries and people say that "FuRRiEs ArEnt ThAT BaD" when people like me who research know that furries are pure porn addicts and should not be around minors EVER

Sad that because the Garry's Mod playerbase is mostly composed of literal children and specially the vocal minority that comments on workshop items, the comment section here will lack the same funny aspect from the original Left 4 Dead 2 addon where 3 (and previously 5) people in the comment section had Ara profile pics just saying things like "finally!"
