If it's not one of those, you shouldn't be having any issue to my knowledge.
I tried it but I did not notice any increase in damage, can you take a look into the file to see the exact line where I would need to change?
I changed all Afflictions gunshotwound values, but as I said I did not notice any increase in damage

Personally I recommend Notepad++ for this.
From there, you can either find the afflictions stats for the item, or you can use Ctrl + F, and filter search the document for 'affliction'. From there, you can change the afflictions dealt by the bullets.
