Please see the great mod: More Vanilla Creatures by ryno:

TL;DR
Removes some creatures added by ryno mod from the game

Introduction

I really like the More Vanilla Creatures mod by ryno, but I found some creatures to be too much for my taste. This mod removes some of them. Removed creatures will not occur naturally in the world, but their statues can be built.

Issues
  • No known issues
If you encounter any other issues, please let me know.

Compatibility
The mod should be compatible with other mods. It uses SELECT_CREATURE and does not remove existing objects. But it does add and remove creatures' tags.
Of course, it requires the original mod to work. As long as the original mod does not remove altered creatures, the mod should work even in older versions.

Using in Other Mods

I don't know if you're still using the method from last I checked, but have you considering doing this instead of cutting every part of the body? If I recall it would create a lot of errors in the log.

[SELECT_CREATURE:ANVIL_MAN]
[CV_REMOVE_TAG:BIOME]
[CV_REMOVE_TAG:FREQUENCY]
[APPLY_CURRENT_CREATURE_VARIATION]
[DOES_NOT_EXIST]
[FANCIFUL]
I haven't had any of the X_Man show up and I edited your mod a good while ago for personal usage. This also produces no errors in the log.
Have a nice day!

I'm getting a crash on world gen with this loaded, really wanted to use it to get rid of the giant spores

I think there were some issues with the Steam Workshop

Anyone know why the mod page for the original is down?

Cool mod. I just found More Vanilla Creatures, and was getting ready to try it... but was a little on the fence, as a few of the newer creatures seemed a little random/silly, and admittedly I prefer a bit of nerdy immersion. But I told myself "oh well, lets try it anyway, looks fun". But then someone (the mod author themselves) linked to this mod, and.. problem solved! Thanks.

@Dwarovar
No - according my knowledge, what more I see that @ryno even recently added Civilization Patch For More Vanilla Creatures that depends on original the same base
But the best way is to ask in the source
