Hide Status & Effects icons

Description
Presentation:

THIS Mod is applying on the BATTLEFIELD only ! It hides the effects (routing, buff, debuff etc.) above units.

ONLY GRAPHICAL Mod.

From the start, and due to the fact that there is no button (in my knowledge because the panel on this particular subject doesn't do anything) to hide the most annoying UI elements into Pharaoh Dynasties, that completely broke immersion for me on the battlefield, I search the elements that I could hide without breaking the game and also not loose too much elements and info.

For the moment the mod is not finished, some elements will be hidden without being certain they are appearing on the battlefield, and in the other hand some icons would still appearing for now but I intend to hide them.

Please if you find some that I didn't hide, just let me know.

LIST OF CHANGES:
- Hide the effects & status icons on the battlefield

Compatibility:

The mod should work with everything as long as you place it above other mods in the launcher.
If you want to use them and/or integrate them into your mod, please do so but please ask me first.

Future update and work planned:

- Extend the effects and Ui hidden on the battlefield if possible (like building icons etc.

Alright.

We are in the same boat. I think every (modable) game has according mods, that disable (default) "clutter" content. Only very few games have a one-button function, for on/off UI/FX stuff. And unfortunately game devs think it makes a game comfortable with with tons of info-boxes, icons etc. Imo. default should be mouseover activation, that would be the best compromise. Plus a button for on/off, or buttons (pl) for a few major UI/FX functions.

It was a reaction to that poor design choice of having that panel in game which have priority over the preferences we select.
Anyway I agree with your last comment, I don't see the public targetted for these elements. For any games (total war included of course) the cleaner, the better, in my opinion.

Yes, battles are much more enjoyable now for me. Just as i know it from all former TW titles. I'm a realism gameplay modder for ages.

As for UI and FX contents, i wonder why CA offers such according settings only halfbaken, when there are so many users who reject the cartoony elements. I mean, it can be default, but should be easy access to disable that stuff.

What do you mean with "What a pity"?

@DaVincix: very nice to hear it, and like I could see, even with the 0 parameters in preference, if you still have the thing "lock" on that panel, which is showed only on that exact panel for what I've seen... the UI/FX element concerned will continue to be shown...

What a pity!
Anyway, enjoy bro and have fun with more authentic battle without clumsy elements :)

I'm like you in regard of UI. Thanks for your reflection and the tips.

I'm just ready with my DB edits for today and will start a new Ramses campaign, and as that starts with a (possible) battle, i'll will seeif i get rid of the ugly or rather stupid looking huge banners.

Actual banner bearing units are very okay though, but those are then real skinned unit models, not whipping pyloms with flags, lol.

@DaVincix, also when in battle nd after putting things in 0 in preference , make sure to click the "unlock" button on the right of the selection for UI/FX elements to hide in battle. Then it is trully hidden on my part.
You access the panel of these elements by maintaining "space bar" during the battle.
Hope it works.

@DaVincix, for me I don't have banner or flag, and yes i did put a lot of things out, I love my game without all that FX or UI that nowadays game are full of.

And yes ui_unit_flags is set to 0 for me.

Possibly it's this line: ui_unit_flags 0;
Will test again, but i believe i playtested that already.

Sorry for spamming comments here.

I wonder if i have a specific bug in this relation. Could you spend the 10 or so minutes to test the 0 setting in your game?
