Description
This mod introduces new weapon mounts and sights that are seamlessly compatible with the vanilla ones, greatly expanding weapon customization options. The implementation aims to stay true to the original game experience and design, making it suitable for most servers.

    Hint: it's possible to configure weapons to spawn with mounts already attached.

Features


Mounts
  • Universal Pistol Mount: allows the attachment of a flashlight along with various short-range sighting devices to pistols with a flashlight rail.
  • MRDS Mount: allows to attach the vanilla pistol red dot to any weapon with a rail.
  • Kochetov Mount (a.k.a. Mosin Mount): allows the use of western scopes on weapons with the Kochetov rail system, e.g., Mosins and SKSs.
  • Warsaw Mount (a.k.a. AK Mount): allows the use of western scopes on AK variants and other soviet era weapons. It also accepts a pistol flashlight on the side rail so weapons like the "Vaiga" or the "Vikhr" can be used to battle in low light environments.
  • CR, Blaze and Tundra mounts: allows the use of western scopes on the vanilla bolt and break action rifles.

Sights
  • G43 Magnifier: it gives 3x magnification for unmagnified sights, e.g., magnifier + vanilla red dot. The magnification can be switched on and off without leaving the ADS position using the zoom in/out bindings (default is mouse wheel), providing a smooth experience.
  • Mark 3HD: same zoom levels and reticle as the trusty vanilla Hunting Scope, but with a rail base compatible with weapons and mounts that feature a rail (e.g., VS89, Mosin Mount, etc.).
  • SpecterDR 1.5-6x: dual purpose scope that allows its user to quickly flip between 1.5x and 6x magnification. It can receive the pistol red dot as an attachment and its reticle can be illuminated.
  • Pilad 4x32: fixed 4x scope with a rail base.
  • OKP-77: eastern compact red dot featuring a wide field of view and two reticle colors.
  • EXPS2: a popular holographic red dot.

Quality of Life
  • Sights are combined with the mounts like any other interaction that involves weapon attachments in the unmodified game.
  • The attachments UI is tweaked to give access to more attachments of attachments slots, making it easier to interact with larger attachment hierarchies.
  • The last used aiming mode (iron sights vs optics) for a given weapon is restored after switching away from it and back. This become a vanilla feature in DayZ 1.27.
  • Small file size, thus fast downloads.

Will the Mark 3HD continue to function as normal as a replacement? I believe the server I play on doesn't spawn the Mark 3HD since the Marksman Scope released

Are there any plans to make the new Marksman Scope fit on your rail mounts? I've found a few but was never able to get them on a Mosin or similar, even with a mount.

Yeah, that seems about right, tried some sights with the Tundra and sights from the new update. I just saw you said they are not compatible. I will try and get some of the sights from Snafu to work.

In regards attaching optics to mounts: only optics from the M&S mod and most vanilla optics can be mounted on M&S mounts by default. If you want to attach optics from other mods to the M&S mounts, you'll need a specific compatibility mod (like this one for the AWS mod).

In regards attaching optics to weapons or mounts to weapons: compatibility issues between mounts or optics from one mod with weapons from another mod aren’t common. They usually happen when a weapon mod does something unconventional.

So, I tested again, no sights are going on the mounts. I am trying with no attachments and the default no attachments option mount with no luck. Tested with multiple guns.

@BrockyTM, I've never seen that issue being related to this mod in my experience (development, testing, actual gameplay, reports from server maintainers). Given that the clues you gave me do not point to a clear direction, here is my suggestion: a) ensure that the setting verifySignatures = 2 is included in the server config; b) run the server with only an admin mod and the one you suspect might be causing the issue; c) if there is no issue, reinstall all mods, and then perform bisection debugging (which is straightforward, but a bit tedious) to identify any potential incompatibilities with another mod.
