Deep Thrust

Description
Thrusters and engines emit a deeper, more muffled sound than before.

Adjusted the Travel Drive, jet, maneuvering, stutter, ship stress, boost, acceleration, landing, takeoff, and breaking .wav files with a -15 db to -5db offset, -50% to 0% pitch offset, +10 to +20% bass increase with modulating effects for more pleasing sound effects. Many audio effects have pop-in artifacts removed via spectrogram analysis.

This mod is currently reworking 538 sound effects and does not require new save. Can be safely removed at any time.

If any sound effects are annoying, let me know so I can fix! Supports all DLC and any ship packs that use vanilla sfx.

For a similar mod for weapons and impacts, check out Deep Impact:

Deep Thrust and Deep Impact are intended to be combined. With both installed I recommend keeping effects at 100% and lowering Voice, UI, Music, and Ambient down to ~50%.

@technolibra - The actual sound file paths will need to be adjusted. You can extract VRO's sound_library.xml to verify what sounds you gotta fix.

ive just been running them together, certain ships have the sounds from your mods and some dont, it is what it is. ill probably look into finding a way to load your mod after VRO so it overwrites everything.

@technolibra - I do not play VRO so I have not made a mod for it.

VRO uses many custom sound files so it is not going to be a direct replacement but more of a remake.

If you want help learning how to make a mod like this feel free to DM me on Egosoft discord.

does both of these mods work with VRO? has a dev made a compatability patch if not?

Thanks for this mod shadowed. The clicking sound pissed me off so much I'd turn the sound right down as it was doing my head in!

Thanks for the feedback, FalconDS9! I would love some elite dangerous quality sounds in this game! I basically muffled all repetitive effects like that travel drive click. It isn't a solution but more of a band-aid.

Elite is definitely the bar to match for sound quality but my skills are not there! I really like deep rumble of the engines though. I still plan on making some sounds quieter in the deep impact mod too.

But you aren't bothering at all! I appreciate all the comments. Making artifact-free sound effects is hard and I do plan on re-making this mod one day.

oh and im not using any mods that change vanilla equipment or change/add audio effects other then your 2 mods. just alot of UI, AI, eco, qol mods to improve the vanilla experience.

i tried your mod with the station editor ship, dont actually know what engine it is using. and with a split travel engine in my latest save. i was missing the charge clicks from the travel drive as well, seems your mod removes that audio feedback.
maybe im actually looking for a diffrent style of audio, im always comparing to the excellent sound effects from elite dangerous. that game creates a very complete set of auditory feedback so you always know whats happening even with your eyes closed.
you seem to prefer to reduce audio to the absolute minimum, more the realistic space audio approach where you can only hear the vibrations of the equiment resonating over the hull and shockwaves hitting the ship.

in that case there is no issue with your mod, just with my expectations =) sry for bothering.

@FalconDS9 Rregarding this comment:

"...it might be because of my audio setup (Bose Speakers + Dolby Atmos Equalizer Settings) but after tweaking alot of sliders i cant reach a satisfying balance and im not willing to change everything just for one mod when the same setup works just fine for every other game, music and streaming needs"

It has nothing to do with your setup, After years of hearing these awful effects sounds I had to set the effects slider down to 20%; and adjust everything else. Not ideal and it always annoyed me.

Eventually I did get the motivation to rework nearly every engine and weapon sound effect to actually enjoy hearing them.

If you are able to not be annoyed by the vanilla effects, more power to you!

@Falcon - I made this mod for internal view and to be combined with Deep Impact. I keep Effects at 100 and the rest at 40-60% and am very happy with how it sounds.

The boosts do have a fade out effect. Which engine did you have that had that issue? Are you playing with any mods that increase engine boost duration significantly?

Haha it is ok you don’t have to use it! I made this mod for me and uploaded it for others to use. I don’t mind keeping effects at 100 and lowering the rest down.
