VRO uses many custom sound files so it is not going to be a direct replacement but more of a remake.
If you want help learning how to make a mod like this feel free to DM me on Egosoft discord.
Elite is definitely the bar to match for sound quality but my skills are not there! I really like deep rumble of the engines though. I still plan on making some sounds quieter in the deep impact mod too.
But you aren't bothering at all! I appreciate all the comments. Making artifact-free sound effects is hard and I do plan on re-making this mod one day.
maybe im actually looking for a diffrent style of audio, im always comparing to the excellent sound effects from elite dangerous. that game creates a very complete set of auditory feedback so you always know whats happening even with your eyes closed.
you seem to prefer to reduce audio to the absolute minimum, more the realistic space audio approach where you can only hear the vibrations of the equiment resonating over the hull and shockwaves hitting the ship.
in that case there is no issue with your mod, just with my expectations =) sry for bothering.
"...it might be because of my audio setup (Bose Speakers + Dolby Atmos Equalizer Settings) but after tweaking alot of sliders i cant reach a satisfying balance and im not willing to change everything just for one mod when the same setup works just fine for every other game, music and streaming needs"
It has nothing to do with your setup, After years of hearing these awful effects sounds I had to set the effects slider down to 20%; and adjust everything else. Not ideal and it always annoyed me.
Eventually I did get the motivation to rework nearly every engine and weapon sound effect to actually enjoy hearing them.
If you are able to not be annoyed by the vanilla effects, more power to you!
The boosts do have a fade out effect. Which engine did you have that had that issue? Are you playing with any mods that increase engine boost duration significantly?
Haha it is ok you don’t have to use it! I made this mod for me and uploaded it for others to use. I don’t mind keeping effects at 100 and lowering the rest down.
