Rebalanced Ancient Junk

Description
📝 About
Many of the Ancient Junk values feel copy and pasted with little thought - Which has always driven me crazy, this mod fixes that!

In the base game, you can find ancient junk with 2,000+ HP, that only yields 2 steel slag after being destroyed. Destroy something smaller with less HP and it drops 6 slag instead! This mod makes these values far more consistent. Overall, it's probably a buff.

As of 1.6, this mod mainly tweaks the cover effectiveness of ancient junk to make logical sense, and to match their non-junk counterpart's cover. An ancient generator provides 75% cover, because a regular generators provide 75% cover.

If it looks like bad cover, it's probably bad cover - IT JUST WORKS!

🔍 Changes:
  • Tweaked Cover Effectiveness for nearly every piece of junk to make more sense.
  • Rebalanced the amounts of steel slag dropped upon destruction.
  • Ancient Junk can now spawn partially damaged like Ancient Highway buildings and Ruins do!

🚧 Compatibility
If you are getting errors with this mod, ensure you do not have the following enabled:

- Tweaks Galore (User Reported that it causes errors)
❗If you turn off "Ancient Deconstruction" and other similar Ancient Junk options, these mods should work fine together.
- Salvaging
- Ancient Junk Loot
- Dismantle Ancient Junk
- Worthless Junk
- Any other mods that effect what Ancient Junk do/drop, these mods may not work as intended or may generate errors when enabled.

It dont think my junk is "ancient". Maybe seasoned? Mature?

Thank you!

@ephemeraltoast Yes, it will now. I just updated it :)

Only basic support for 1.6, no changes made to Odyssey yet, we'll see. If I do update the mod again, it'll probably get remade.

There are many "rebalanced junk" mods but this one is my favorite. Will it work in 1.6?

One suggestion/request for the OP:

maybe you could post a "if you see some errors, make sure you aren't using this with the similar options turned on in "Tweaks Galore" in your description above. May go a long way to reducing peoples headaches.

Thanks!

For anyone kicking up errors with this mod I figured out it was "Tweaks Galore" that was doing a similar thing. It is buried in the options and I must have turned that on at some point. Now loading up Rimworld no longer pops up the log with red errors.

It's possible it wasn't affecting this one, and maybe it was "Dismantle Ancient Junk" which was the one that was having a compatibility issue with Tweaks Galore, but I figured this note would give people something to be wary of. I will copy/paste this in the "Dismantle Ancient Junk" comments as well just in case. (if comments are turned on, lol.

Mod author: Thanks for a great mod!

@Saladsnake

It's not exactly farfetched that junk can be useful. A piece of steel would be infinitely more useful than just having rocks to smash. Any sort of processed material would be basically cheat-mode for survival.

Besides, the gameplay mechanics that enable a random person to go from nothing to space flight in a lifetime is hilariously bonkers.
