Description
Deadly Diseases & Fertility is a small I wanted to create, because the other disease and fertility mods weren't fitting my particular needs. What makes this different from other ones? It's not as punishing as Dark ages, but it feels like life expectancy is a bit more random. This mod also has a few new random harm events that will add some spice to the gameplay.

Changes:
Fertility:
  • Characters that are born or generated have a chance to have 0% fertility
  • Pregnancy complications happen more often than vanilla
  • Mothers are more likely to have complications with their first birth
  • Base fertility is boosted from 50% to 60%
______________________________________________________________
Diseases:
  • Outbreaks happen less, but are more impactful
  • Outbreaks kill your economy (No work/citizens = no revenue)
  • Typhoid, Malaria, Diphtheria, and Influenza outbreakshave been added to add some variety to the diseases in game!
  • Children will get sickly more often
  • Coughing Fit, Feverish, Pus Boils, and Itchy skin modifiers have been added to reduce life and to spread disease further.
  • Plague Resistance is now calculated in outbreak chances, disease spread in your realm, and character infectivity.
______________________________________________________________
Buildings:
  • Added Plague Doctor office(Pest house) line of buildings +15,+30, +45 plague resistance(County)
  • Added Market for city holdings each level reduces plague resistance(Province)
  • Added Animal pens to tribal holdings!
  • Majority of buildings now increase/decrease plague resistance(Province)
______________________________________________________________
Decisions:
  • Added Variolation when a plague is present in your realm. This allows you to take the chance of getting immunization to a specific disease, but comes with a risk of becoming sick!
______________________________________________________________
Traits:
  • Added a variety of new traits that impact your life!
  • All disease/harmful traits that reduce health are deadlier i.e. Sickly will kill.
______________________________________________________________
Events:
  • Added mortality events. (Can be disabled via game rules)
______________________________________________________________
Compatibility:
  • For the best compatibility, especially with the building edits, please have this mod loaded last.

  • This should work along with mods that use Europe as their base (i.e. TFE). Any other mod is "use at your own risk"

  • AGOT: Works fine, If you have an existing save that has sickle cell, a decision in game will remove it.

Localization:
  • Korean by Delcroix

Changes are noted in the Change Notes! Major changes will be applied to the overall description!
This did get bigger than what I expected it to. I appreciate the favorites and subscriptions! I hope this brings a little more difficulty without being a pain! Feedback is always appreciated :)

Awesome mod! Life expectancy’s way lower now—pretty much like it was in real life. Add in the Alleged infertility mod, and the global population stays around 35–40k, which helps with performance too. This mod needs more subs!

I noticed that, when playing and a character gets influenza, maester treatments dont work for some reason. Besides that, thank you for the increased comparability with AGOT!

@Innead Just improved some compatibility with AGOT. As of now there's no new diseases. However, If you're playing AGOT and have characters with the sickle cell trait there will be a one time decision to remove the sickle cell from every character. Any new game created sickle cell will no longer be applied to any characters. I did this, because i'd rather not have players lose their current save files. :)

While this may not be very compatible with AGOT. It's fantastic for a semi-vanila playthrough, thank you for this!

update?

Of course, it would be best if you are willing to make an additional module. One module for the birth rate and one module for the death rate. That would be symmetrical and perfect, don’t you think?

Hi, are you interested in making a negative health modifier for the elderly (people over 60), and then making the modifier more severe for every ten years of age? There are too many old people in the original game, and of course the main thing is the players themselves. I think it was probably rare to live to over 80 in the Middle Ages.

@Innead Understand this isn't made with AGOT in mind. This was made with vanilla and vanilla like mods in mind. I can't add exceptions for other mods without breaking my own. If you wish to do this, create a patch that'll fix these issues. Outside of that any issues or bugs related to DDF, please use the bug reporting discussion above.

@CaptainSlapster Another AGOT related bug I found. Is that dragons can sometimes be affected by the sudden death events introduced by this mod (The Cannibal died of a sudden heart attack at one point). You might need to add an exception for dragons in the game.

Also figured out the sickle cell bug seems to happen even without LoV. So it seems just AGOT related.

Could you slightly reduce the probability women of dying in childbirth? great mod btw.
