Description
Herald's Start Positions - Athel Loren is a lua script start position mod introducing a series of mostly smaller changes in Athel Loren and the surrounding area, including the introduction of a minor Ogre faction, previously not present in Immortal Empires.

This mod was developed alongside HSP - Alberic in Bretonnia and HSP - Morghur in Bretonnia, to provide greater faction variety in and around Bretonnia.

The main changes of this mod are the following:

- Orion starts at war with Parravon only when controlled by the player, he starts neutral as the AI.
- Durthu no longer starts at war with Karak Norn. When controlled by the player, Durthu starts at war with Parravon - when controlled by the AI, Durthu starts neutral. The changes to AI Durthu and Orion make their factions passive for a longer time, which is in accordance with the character of the Wood Elves of Athel Loren;
- The Eyebiter Ogre Kingdoms minor faction, previously present only in the Realms of Chaos, is introduced into Immortal Empires, owning Gristle Valley and Grimhold, starting at war with Karak Norn. Ogre mercenaries and faction variety abound, through themselves and Karak Norn surviving longer by not starting as a major faction's enemy;
- Karak Norn is compensated by starting with Karak Azgaraz, alongside the settlement of Karak Norn.

This mod is recommended alongside Herald's Start Positions - Alberic in Bretonnia and Herald's Start Positions - Morghur in Bretonnia, but can be used independently as well, if you prefer greater faction variety around Athel Loren, and Durthu not expanding all the way into the Empire quite early on.

If you would prefer AI Alberic, or other factions from Bretonnia and Athel Loren not to venture into Middenland, I recommend using Herald's Starting Diplomacy Mod - The Black Pit Tribe, ending the war between the Black Pit Tribe and Middenland, preventing unexpected AI behaviour from more distant Order factions, often causing them to expand towards the heart of the Empire.

Furthermore, I recommend using these mods together with other Herald's Start Positions mods, and my mods in general, as they are all being developed in conjunction.

This mod is fully compatible with Mixu's Unlocker and Immortal Empires Expanded. It was not developed keeping any new faction mods in mind.

Herald's Start Positions mod series should work with mods like SFO: Grimhammer III, which rebalance different aspects of the game, but generally do not touch the start positions of the factions.

Credits go to Porkenstein and Swissbob for the script framework which I'm using across my start position lua script mods, and to nopeace.net for the map I used in the mod thumbnail.

I use it without Mixer, it works without any problems for me. I just checked using only this mod and a toggle fog of war mod, it works without any problems, playing as Orion.

It all worked with Mixer, but not without

@Cpt Crappy The Eyebiter Ogres are not present on the campaign map for you? Add me on Steam or contact me through Discord so I can try to help you out.

Don't know why, seems like nothing changes when starting as Orion with no mixer or other start position mods. Looked through my modlist, but nothin that should touch start positions.
