Hello and thank you for your interest in this mod!


Intro
This mod will add a chance encounter Black Market to your game, which sells Contraband in exchange for Tater Tokens. Tokens are earned by simply playing the game and are saved between runs. Contraband will not be cluttering the regular shop's pool, as they will only be available at the market.
Please be aware this was created with longevity in mind, so don't be discouraged if you cannot afford a lot of the new stuff right away. Everything you'll obtain from the Market is a 100% upgrade compared to the base game, so I did have to be a little conservative in order for this to not be ridiculously OP when everything is unlocked.
Some of the Permanent Contraband will allow you to earn more Tokens and there's a few achievements to unlock that'll also help you along.

Details
  • After every wave, there's a chance (base = 5%) to encounter the Black market. A minimum of Tokens (configurable. Default = 500) is required for it to show up.
  • Earn a new currency: Tater Tokens (thank you Exses for the suggestion!). Tokens will be saved between runs and can only be spent in the market
  • On killing enemies and trees, you have a chance to earn Tokens. The chance and amount depends on their value. Higher difficulties slightly increases the chance
  • On winning a wave you earn Tokens, amount depends on difficulty and the wave number
  • On winning a run you get a bonus of Tokens, amount depends on difficulty
  • Current amount of Tokens will be visible at the end of a wave and ofcourse when at the market
  • Black Market is not available in co-op or after wave 20, but will still earn Tokens
  • Proceed to the regular shop after visiting the Black Market
  • Cannot sell anything back to the market
  • The cost of Contraband is static
  • The cost of Reroll (base = 180) will get cheaper every wave (-5) and doesn't change on rerolling
  • The achievement rewards are permanent and will be applied after the run in which you obtained it
  • The Black market waits for nobody! Resuming a game after leaving while in the Black market, will place you in the regular shop
  • There's a config that'll allow you to set some preferences


  • The border color does not define rarity, it's a visual aid to differentiate the type:
    • White/Common: Primary stat points and Wanted tags. Only 1 tag at a time can be shown in the shop and after buying a tag, all other tags are removed from the market. More info on tags here[brotato.wiki.spellsandguns.com]
    • Green/Uncommon: Miscellaneous perks
    • Purple/Rare: Challenge wave changes. Changes will only be visible after leaving the market (shown in regular shop). Only available for D4 and D5. After buying one, the other challenge wave contraband are removed from the market
    • Red/Legendary: Permanent boosts. Once bought, owned forever. After buying, their value usually increases (for some exponentially)


Configuration options
It's recommended to use Mod Options by Dami, so you'll be able to change these settings in-game.
  • Enable/disable having Stat point contraband available in the market. Disabling it will increase Reroll cost by 60
  • Set the minimum amount of Tokens requires to be able to visit the market, between 100 and 2500
  • Set the Stat point contraband value, between 1 and 3


Calculation of Tokens earned
On enemy kill, chance: 1% per base value + 0.2% per difficulty
On enemy kill, amount: base value + bonus from perm upgrades
On tree kill, chance: 4% + 0.4% per difficulty + bonus from perm upgrades
On tree kill, amount: base value
Per wave: (1 + difficulty) * current wave + bonus from perm upgrades
Per win: (40 + (difficulty * difficulty * 10)) * (1 + bonus from perm upgrades/100)

Some examples of total earnings when winning a run at wave 20. This does not includes earning from killing enemies/trees, as they're RNG:
D0 without perm. upgrades: 250
D0 with all perm. upgrades: 1290
D5 without perm. upgrades: 1550
D5 with all perm. upgrades: 2970

its supposed to spawn with a set chance each round after you meet the minimum token threshhold, however, some mods, or bad luck like mine, can make it so that it never appears
