Description
DESCRIPTION:
I was always wondering why almost all races get elite infantry units for both attack/defence but lizardmen don't. Thats why I made a variation of temple guard but they are armed with maces instead of halberds. This creates more diversity and variability for frontline of late game lizardmen armies. This unit is envisioned as a direct upgrade over the basic Saurus Warriors as a main frontline infantry unit.

I tried to make the new unit balanced for vanilla, But if you have any suggestions or encounter any problems, just comment/message me and I will try to solve them.

*This mod is a port of my previous mod for Warhammer II Total War:*

The Screenshots are taken on *unit size: medium*. Some of the screenshots are from my previous mod from WH2.

+BLESSED VARIANT
A blessed variant of the unit is included in the mod, which can be obtained by usual blessed spawning missions. The missions will start with a rough probability of ~2% per turn and the rewards are 1-3 Temple Guard Maces units depending on turn number.

FAQ:
"Is this mod save-game compatible?" - Yes it is.

"But do the units benefit from lord skills/technologies?" - Yes they do. They benefit from the exactly same skills/technologies as normal temple guard does. You can recruit this unit from the same buildings as normal temple guard and blessed variant you obtain via missions.

COMPATABILITY:
It is a simple unit mod, so it should be compatible with almost all mods existing. Might not be balanced in line with major overhaul mods (like SFO) so u will need to try it for yourself. If you encounter any problems, just comment/message me and I will try to solve them.

Could you make them anti-infantry and lower their defense stat, so that they can fill the infantry shredder niche? I want these to be less generalist, like the vanilla ones.

i agree with mod creator, i even created 2 posts on forums, trying to say something like that. that units should be weapon flexible.
example, silver helm unit from elves roster. they are "standard" with shield on/off and always use lances.
it should be able to us choose wich weapon each unit should use in battle, again, using the silver helms as example, you could swap the lance for 1 hand swords or even 2 hand swords (repanse, im looking to you...).
naturally some units do not let this flexibility (swordmasters of hoeth need use swords. but could be using the dual one hand swords insteand 2hand swords only.
great mod.

No worries, I was just wondering because I have seen many times modders adding armor piercing or sundering with maces. Great mod :)

@subway_21 But if you want to make a different, OP version for you, I can do it. It as simple as changing 1 value and will take like ~5mins.
Murloc  [author] 6 Dec, 2024 @ 4:19am
@subway_21 No, because armour-piercing or sundering is for Halberds or Great Weapons units.
subway_34 6 Dec, 2024 @ 3:54am
No armor piercing or sundering?
