Description
Major update has been released.

Check the approximate locations of Side Quests. [imgur.com]

ATTENTION, VORTEX CORPS OPERATORS.

Welcome, Gentlemen. Welcome, Ladies.

This is your Commander speaking.

The Operation Genesis Code mod has undergone full strategic deployment. A major update has been executed with precision and perfection featuring 3D quest items, immersive static models when equipped as primary, and four fully developed operations: the central mission and three deeply challenging side quests. Every piece, every trigger, every outcome, created with care, grit, and military-grade discipline. (Check "Change Notes" for more details about the update.)

But let it be known, support has been scarce. Since its release, the mod has recruited only +750 Subscribers. For a mission of this magnitude, for content forged in the fires of creative warfare, this silence is deafening.

Therefore, as of now, future development has been frozen.
No expansions. No side missions.
Only compatibility maintenance with Build 41 and 42 will continue until further notice.

IF you want more... if you seek more operations, more secrets, more battles worthy of the Vortex Corps name, then rally.
Bring the mod to 4 stars minimum.
Your support is the fuel of future missions.

Until then...
The Corps stands by.

Before Reading the Description:
Examine the provided images, they include essential details you must know before starting/subscribing.

  • Important Details:
    New Game Required
This mission-based story demands a new game save. Any attempt to integrate this mod into an existing save is futile. Start fresh or don't start at all.

  • Multiplayer Compatibility:
Refer to the SSR Quest Framework for more details on servers/multiplayer functionality.

  • Mod Compatibility:
The mod is designed to function alongside most mods, including over 150+ tested mods. There were no errors or issues during testing.
However, mods altering the inventory system code will generate error logs. These logs do not impact gameplay.

  • Quest Difficulty:
This mission is not for the unprepared. Operation Genesis Code is an unforgiving and brutal mission.

    No Cheats = Extreme Challenge
Do not expect to survive without careful planning. A superhuman build and a massive backpack are mandatory. This is not a mission for scavengers or builders, it is for operators who can adapt and dominate in high-pressure scenarios.

    Custom Build Required
A custom, extremely powerful build has been provided to level the playing field. Without it, you are guaranteed to fail. This is not up for debate.

    Standard Builds Are Useless
Do not attempt this mission with a standard Project Zomboid character or any traditional mod builds. They are grossly inadequate for the mission's demands. Without cheats or the custom build, failure is certain.

Overview: (Followed by the Easy Installation Guide)
Welcome to Operation Genesis Code, the most ambitious and hardcore quest mod available for Project Zomboid. This mod introduces features never before seen on the public Steam Workshop for the game.

  • What Makes This Mod Unique?
Unlike other so-called "mission" or "operation" mods, this mod delivers a true narrative with immersive gameplay. You aren't just surviving, you're playing the role of a "Vortex Corps" Operator, a genetically engineered superhuman built for warfare.

  • Who Are the Vortex Corps Operators?
Vortex Corps Operators are the ultimate killing machines, genetically enhanced soldiers feared by all, including five-star generals, the most powerful politicians and top brass. Their sheer presence shifts the tides of wars and political conflicts.

    Loyalty Beyond Limits
The Vortex Corps answer to no one except a select few they deem worthy of their trust. The President of the United States is one of the rare exceptions, securing their allegiance through competence and respect. Their loyalty, however, is conditional, and no one else dares to attempt commanding them.

    Summoned Only in Absolute Crisis
The activation of a Vortex Corps Operator is reserved for scenarios where the stakes couldn't be higher. Their involvement is a last resort, each operator's presence alone is enough to accomplish the impossible.

  • The Story:
Amid the chaos of a global zombie outbreak, the situation deteriorates to a point where conventional measures are no longer viable. As a result, the President authorizes the activation of one Vortex Corps Operator to tackle the crisis head-on.

But even then, the President is unable to bear the monumental responsibility of commanding such a force. For this reason, he temporarily transfers authority to General Ironside [cnc.fandom.com] (A former General in "Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour" game), a five-star general and one of the President's most trusted allies.

General Ironside, known for his brilliant tactics and countless battlefield victories, is given command of the Vortex Corps Operator for this mission only. Once the operation is complete, the Operator's autonomy is restored.

  • The Mission:
You, the Vortex Corps Operator, are deployed into the mission zone to meet General Ironside. The mission details are classified and will be revealed as you progress. Your operator's unparalleled skill set will be tested in ways that ordinary survivors could never endure.

The Presidential Order Contract, a binding agreement detailing the operation's command structure, is attached below:

  • Gameplay Notes:
Your operator will document key events (Journal Logs) to help you navigate this challenging and immersive mission.

@Greenjack, Once I have some free time, I'll think about it. Just something I might do on the side when I feel like it, nothing more. Appreciate the suggestions though.

yeah bro i can totally feel you, since 3-4 years passed and all we got is this crappy B42, instead of a way more involving process of fixing and adding stuff that the community wants and that makes mod for it, baby steps we would have had everything
Like for istance QoL mods (for repairing lightbars or reconditioning engine or change from cars and having more horse power and so on) but this game actualy keeps running bc of modders that fill those gaps
So i was wondering if you can and if you are able maybe you could work on some little stuff like mods that are incomplete/abandoned for istance, or cool features like adding that radar or sound system that we talked about in the Item GPS DZ12 that lets you see zeds around you

@Greenjack, I appreciate the kind words. Truth is, I could create more mods, but I don't invest serious time into non-lucrative work. Operation Genesis Code was created for fun during my free time, but like many mods, it didn't get the same attention as simpler, trendy ones.

I have the skill to add more features that requires Lua coding, but I'll only do so if the mod gains proper support. As for The Indie Stone, I wouldn't work with them. After more than a decade, the game is still incomplete, delivering content at that pace isn't something I'd engage in.

Besides, I already work in a far more rewarding industry compared to most game development roles. Truth is, unless a project is backed by investors with serious marketing and structured development, it won't see large-scale success. The gaming industry is tough, major studios dominate, and solo or small developers are often just drops in the ocean.

You're goddam right bro, i really i wonder what you could pontentially pull off the hat with ur modding skills and mind
Even if redundant you're amazing, IndieStone should have more ppl like you for real, the game would be so much better
Blod  [author] 20 Jun @ 6:24am
@Greenjack, RNG has its place, but not when it comes to tools meant to support the player. I accept randomness for enemy spawns, it keeps things unpredictable and prevents players from memorizing exact positions, but for equipment or vital gear, I prefer certainty over chance. If it's not guaranteed, I'd rather give the player nothing at all. RNG on support items can easily lead to unfair disadvantages or worse, death.

Enjoy your time. Mods should make the game more fun and challenging, not frustrating, always with balance in mind.
Greenjack 20 Jun @ 2:54am
oh that's even better cause i was referring at "Start with GPS" mod that basically pulls a random GPS and it's condition it's randomized too, but since i'm so unlucky i always get it damaged or almost broken and i struggle to find a repair kit
Anyway ur amazing for making that fix :)
Blod  [author] 19 Jun @ 11:56pm
@Greenjack, You're most welcome my friend. The DZ12 comes in perfect condition, equipped with essential tools for extended use. Enjoy your time and stay safe.
Greenjack 19 Jun @ 2:14pm
omg Blod you're the GOAT really, you are one of a kind and i can't say any words to appreciate than a massive THANK YOU m8
Just the DZ12 was enough for me but since i always get it already damaged, spawning with repair kits it's even better
Anyhow thank you again bro :)
Blod  [author] 19 Jun @ 7:43am
@Greenjack, Hello my friend, As requested, I made a small mod that adds a trait to spawn with the DZ12 GPS and its maintenance tools. Works independently from the Vortex Corps profession. Here's the link:
Start With DZ12 GPS - Custom Trait (itemGPS Required)

Enjoy your time:steamthumbsup:.
Greenjack 18 Jun @ 10:17pm
Heyo Blod! I was wondering since ur mod has a scripted spawn with DZ12 gps device and since the modder of "spawn with GPS item trait" (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3020791459&searchtext=gps) seems to just ignore ppl, is it possible that you make like a small mod or script to spawn with DZ12 outside of using Vortex profession?
